The exterior of this pub needs some attention and may put some people off, but once you get inside it’s totally different. A traditional bar and restaurant, with lovely touches like fresh flowers on all the tables.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was large and the food was excellent on both evenings. Would recommend.
Other Comments
We had a room in the pub on the second floor. There was quite a lot of traffic noise from the road, so it might not suit light sleepers.

Excellent stay,we paid extra for outside cabin, well worth the extra,no room to room noise, extremely clean, comfy bed, great shower…BUT sofas in lounge area very stained, curtains didn’t close( I always take clothes pegs) for that reason, and ladies take note NO HAIRDRYER,I had taken my own,but apart from those minor niggles, excellent stay, food 100%,staff great very welcoming, very quite location.and on top of that we had a lovely bottle processor and it was in an ice bucket..thank you….There are no walks in the area, but so many lovely towns within a short distance…King Charles has his home nearby..Lovely hotel…Definitely recommend.
Other Comments
Worth extra money for outside cabin, they leave huge amount of tea/coffee etc,and yummy biscuits,(which makes a change from other hotels )..but like I say take clothes pegs and maybe eye masks..Lovely walk in shower..please go and experience.

Overall it was okay, the food was good. For us the beds and pillows were far too soft which consequently made us have two bad night's sleep but someone else could find them comfy. It's a personal choice. The rooms were very nicely decorated. There wasn't a socket by the mirror which was frustrating.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Rooms were full of character. Lots of diversification in the grounds - glamping tents, cabins, barns for weddings - all looking full of care and attention. Lovely feel to the whole place.

Had not noticed it was actually on an fairly busy road, so bedrooms at the front were a little noisy.

Very warm and welcoming staff. Easy check in and dinner confirmation taken to our room which was a good size and well furnished and presented. We had dinner both evening of our stay and were very impressed with menu choices. The quality and presentation of all meals was excellent with generous portions. All staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The outside of the Inn could do with a refresh but everything else was very good and we really enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed the break very much. Great staff- all friendly and helpful at all times. Food good and portions enormous! Room comfortable and very clean with good en- suite. Outside is work in progress so somewhat off putting, but the interior shows how much work has gone into making this little place an excellent stop off for stays in the region. Location excellent, with close proximity to Malmesbury and Tetbury.
It’s not a grand hotel, but it is a great little place to stay. Excellent value for money.

Chalets were extremely spacious and welcomed dogs. Shower was large and worked well. Central heating was very responsive. Beds are comfortable and pillows were amazing.

Things we would have liked: coat hooks - the hanging space above the tea and coffee facilities was oddly placed and not conducive to hanging wet coats. Perhaps a curatin between the bedroom and lounge areas. A chair!! There were no chairs in the chalet and so either had to sit on the bed or stand to blow-dry hair. A chair would have been welcome too for putting clothes on to wear the next day. The door mat was not big enough / absorbent enough for wet weather. Felt as if we were making the entrance floor dirty. A mini fridge would be great for the Summer months - we bought milk for our tea and were able to leave it outside as it was minus 1 overnight (February), but in the Summer months there is nowhere to keep drinks cold. A non-see-through curtain / blind at the bathroom window - we had to hang a towel over this when using the bathroom for privacy.

When you turn up at the Inn you could be pit off by the exterior appearance. Once inside it is very nice.
We were promised a first floor king size room but we ended up in a family room in the attic. The bed was very comfortable and teamaking facility perfect.
The bathroom and shower were excellent and very clean.

Outside appearance is off putting, but need to look beyond that to a fantastic interior, lovely accommodation, really top notch food, both evening dinner and breakfast of high quality. Had a 2 night stay and we had a lovely time. On the outside the pub needs a bit of TLC (which i understand they have scheduled) but on entering the pub you are transformed into a wonderful setting. A real lovely old pub, with a newer bit added. Staff are friendly and excellent, food is top class pub food and a nice selection of beers available. The rooms, with creaking floorboards add to the atmosphere. A really excellent, friendly pub. We are looking into using the camping facility in the Summer.
