Set on the Isle of Purbeck, the hotel is situated above Swanage Bay. The beach is part of the Jurassic Coast—a 96-mile-long UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's known for its fossils and distinctive landforms.
Impressive views of the bay and Peveril Point are on offer in the hotel's public areas. These include the Coast Restaurant, which serves fine-dining dishes made using fresh local produce.
The hotel has a spa and fitness club. Facilities include a plunge pool, a spa bath, a sauna, and a gym.
Corfe Castle is less than 15 minutes' drive away. This romantically ruined fortress was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century.
The spectacular coastline is famous for picturesque rock formations. Old Harry Rocks are 10 minutes' drive away, while Durdle Door is 35 minutes' drive.

Food wasn't up to previous standard we've had - evening meal. Room was nice but had to pay above the Travelzoo deal for it. Staff helpful but tried to overcharge for meal - had to sort it.

We had a lovely 2 night break. During our stay we had one evening meal in the restaurant. The vegetarian options were either risotto or vegetarian burgers. We chose to have the burgers which were OK. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice for both hot or cold.

The car park is tight for spaces but not far from on road or other parking. Reception friendly and professional. Hotel well located within Swanage. All the staff were smart and friendly. Room clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent and the view from the restaurant superb. Great location for exploring the area and walking generally. I would definitely visit again.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Friendly staff. Great facilities and location. Right on the cliffs with numerous walks from the door. Great sauna,pool and gym. Can dash down the steps from the gym to the sea if you want a dip after the sauna. Great breakfast. What’s not to love!!!

Lovely view and wonderful hotel building. Sleepy, traditional seaside location and close to Studland and Old Harry. Would recommend for a short break based on value for money. Room clean and adequate. Breakfast excellent and the nicest location for dinner is the conservatory overlooking the bay.

Despite having holidayed in Swanage for about 50 years I have never stayed at The Grand before, my mistake obviously. We had a most enjoyable stay there: the hotel has been really well updated without diminishing the old grandeur of the building, the staff are efficient and attentive, breakfast was excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable and our stay was great value for money.

Most relaxing hotel with amazing views overlooking the beach and sea from the conservatory where the main meals and afternoon tea was served. It was the same view from where breakfast was served.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning. The only thing I felt needed improving upon was the size of the tv’s in the bedroom, but in no way did that spoil my most enjoyable stay.

A fabulous stay at this beautiful hotel, (a Travelzoo deal). Staff helpful, welcoming and friendly. We upgraded to a deluxe seaview room as a special treat. So glad we did. Our room overlooked stunning Swanage Bay. Hotel is an easy walk from the seafront. We were able to park in the road as parking at hotel really tight. Breakfast fabulous, so much choice.
Spa an added bonus too.
Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in a great location. As we were a group of adults it was quite difficult to get 3 rooms when we wanted but it was sorted eventually with 2 rooms having to be upgraded due to availability issues. Still excellent value for money and we all had a blast! Keen to return in the future!

This was my third visit to the Grand and was as excellent as the past visits. Lovely staff, beautifully refurbished room - light, bright, warm and cosy.
