More Reasons to Go

  • The property is Exmouth's oldest hotel—it was built in 1810 and is part of a Regency terrace that sits on the site of a beacon dating back to Elizabethan times.
  • The Marine Bar & Lounge serves a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as afternoon tea, which is included in this offer.
  • Exmouth's 2-mile-long beach is less than 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, as is the town centre, and you can reach the Blue Flag Sandy Bay Beach in 15 minutes by car.
  • The Jurassic Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a shoreline that stretches 96 miles from Devon to Dorset. Exmouth is known as the gateway to this fossil-hunter's paradise.
  • The hotel is 10 minutes' drive from the edge of the East Devon National Landscape—you can hike the East Devon Way, or simply explore quaint towns and villages home to thatched cottages and packed with character.

Booked as birthday treat and as perfect. Friendly helpful staff and good location within walking distance of all amenities and beaches etc paid extra to upgrade to seaview room and was magnificent view. Excellent value break which included lovely breakfast and a cream tea which was superb. Cannot fault anything. Would come again for sure even though i only live in Torbay. Parking plentiful but hard to get but onsite parking available at a cost or just come by train.

Nice location. We enjoyed the cream tea. The breakfast was very good.

We paid extra for a sea view room. The room was large, furniture and bathroom a little tired in places but it was clean with good quality sheets and towels. Excellent value for money.

Walking out of the premises on the last day. If it was not for the fact that we were travelling further on, we would have cut our stay
Other Comments
The parts the non-residents didn't see. Our room was in need of serious TLC. We noticed on the second morning that the toilet leaked. It was reported to reception and demonstrated to a member of staff, to be told that it required a new seal and that it would be repaired that day. The next morning, check out day, it was still leaking. We advised reception that the problem had not been resolved, to be told by the same member of staff "Well, we did fit a new seal". One of our breakfast orders was "2 slices of brown toast. with mushrooms on 1 slice and tomatoes on the other slice". We didn't know that there were so many different ways to serve that order
