  • The hotel was once the Harbour Master's house and is a Grade II-listed property.
  • Wander around the port to admire colourful boats bobbing in the harbour, or hit the arcades and try your luck on the 2p machines—you'll find arcades just a few minutes' walk from the hotel.
  • The South West Coast Path passes right by the front door of the Harbour View—it's a 25-minute walk along the path to Berry Head Nature Reserve, home to the Berry Head Lighthouse.

Harbour view is well-placed above Brixton Harbour. The room was small but comfortable. “English” breakfasts were cooked freshly, but perhaps a little more variety over a three night stay would be a good move - there was a small selection of pastries each morning, but maybe, again, a more variety would be good. Parking cost extra, but this was made clear at the start, and the marked parking spaces were easy to find. A short walk downhill by the road, or steps direct to the harbour, leads into town where, even in November, there was a variety of places to eat and drink at all times of day and evening. If you don’t want to drive during your stay, buses are frequent to nearby towns.

Very well run. Lovely breakfasts. Very clean. Great staff. A couple of 4 stars as we were in the top room and this involved climbing awkward staircase.
