The Devonshire Arms is an AA 5-star inn with seven bedrooms.
The AA calls the property "welcoming, stylish, and well equipped"; rooms are all individually decorated.
A multitude of scenic walking routes and pretty villages are on offer in the Peak District. Chatsworth House is around 30 minutes' drive away, while Bakewell is 35 minutes away.
Eyam, the Peak District's famous "plague village", is half an hour's drive. Its museum tells how the village isolated itself to prevent the spread of plague in 1665.
Sheffield is a 20-minute drive away. It's known for its food scene and vibrant nightlife. It's also home to a choice of galleries and museums.

We booked one night here as a stopover and were really impressed with the standard of accommodation, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. Can't comment fairly on the location, as we weren't using it as a base to visit anywhere. However, would certainly consider booking again if we were.

Excellent hotel, food and staff. Best hotel decor inside of any hotel. Only very small criticism that comes to mind is the tinned tomatoes at breakfast in lieu of proper versions and the paper napkins, cloth would have matched the perfect food and ambience

We had an overnight stay on our way back from Edinburgh. This is something we do regularly. Everything about our stay was excellent. The room had obviously been updated recently- beautifully fitted out and very comfortable- with many mod cons. Welcoming and friendly staff. Probably one of the best overnight stays we’ve had.

Our one night stay at The Devonshire Arms was fantastic, from the staff to the room to the food.
The person I spoke to when booking was very helpful, and every member of the team we encountered during our stay seemed happy in their job, which translated into great service.
The room had been immaculately designed to meet every need.
The DBB menu is a little limited and a bit unusual, but everything we ate was beautifully prepared. The breakfast menu had a much more interesting choice than the usual offering, and again the food was very well cooked.
We thought our stay was excellent value for money, and would definitely stay again.

A lovely quiet place to stay. For a pub / restaurant, the accommodation is of a high standard and is far superior to many more expensive hotels I have stayed in. Everywhere is clean and well maintained. Staff across the board were friendly and helpful. Overall the 2 night break represented very good value for money.
