The hotel sits in the centre of Peterborough, a short stroll from the Norman cathedral. The cathedral is home to the tomb of Catherine of Aragon. It was also the first resting place of Mary, Queen of Scots.
Steam enthusiasts (or fans of "Thomas the Tank Engine") should head to Nene Valley Railway. This preserved steam railway is home to the little blue engine from the children's books. Ten minutes' walk from the hotel, the line runs for seven and a half miles.
The city of Cambridge is a 30-minute drive away. It's known for its museums, cosy pubs, and impressive university buildings.
The pretty historic town of Stamford is around half an hour's drive away.

On arrival at the Bull Hotel their car park was easy to access, free for guests and very convenient for the hotel itself, which was brilliantly located for walking around the city centre. Friendly staff, a very comfortable bedroom, excellent food and a great atmosphere made our stay perfect.

Wonderfully characterful hotel that wowed us when we entered the ornate lobby from the car park. Extravagent reproductions of old master paintings that looked exremely authentic and added a touch of luxury. A sumptious historical feel that cocooned you from the busy high street. Great stay and an eye opening introduction to Peterborough and it's magnificent cathedral and historical buildings around the town square. Would recommend!

The bar prices are very good.
The room was rather warm but it was August and there was a fan in the room; anybody who makes an issue of this is probably a serial whinger!

It was difficult to find the entrance to the car park using just the post code in Sat Nav. Wee phoned reception three times while driving round the city centre and the recptionist did his best to help but it would help to know what you're looking fro ie an archway in a street that appears to be blocked by bollards! Put in "Bull Hotel Car Park instead and it worked a treat

This was our 9th visit, and have already booked the tenth. Perfect location in city centre for shops. Train station just over 10 minutes easy walking distance, and bus station just over 5 minutes walk. Lovely hotel ambience. Nice bedrooms. Staff friendly and helpful. The meal choices with the Travelzoo deal are somewhat limited, but the deal is excellent value. The only negative is the number of 'undesirables' in the centre in the evening, so just be aware of that!

The hotel was really comfortable and the food was okay only a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral, and the Westgate Shopping centre was just across the rod which led to the Queens shopping centre.
The hotel really should do something about the postcode for the car park, if you use a sat nav it takes you to Fitzwilliam Road but it is a one way system and you are not allowed to enter.

Absolutely wonderful time. A hotel of style and tradition. Tasty meals. Good service. Clean throughout. I only gave it 4 stars for atmosphere as there weren’t many people around on the Friday night, which we couldn’t understand why. If the hotel was closer to where we live, we would stay a lot more. The price is a steal. Highly recommended.
