The shower was fantastic! Also, on the plus side, staff were very pleasant, dinner was pretty good and the coffee choices at breakfast were great (though pastries were supermarket level). We also enjoyed the location, with beautiful river and countryside walks on the doorstep. It is dog-friendly despite what Travelzoo says - but this just means dogs are allowed. There were no water bowls or a dog sausage at breakfast, though there was a jar of dog treats which our hound very much enjoyed.
Other Comments
Unfortunately, our room was not just too small for two people and a dog, but pretty dirty. The kettle was a disgrace (the lovely lady in the bar kindly cleaned it for us), the bathroom blind was coated with dust, the mirror frame was spattered with other people’s toothpaste and the silver by the shower opening clearly hadn’t been wiped down. Nor had the shower tiles. We were asked if we wanted the room serviced and couldn’t believe what the bed looked like when we returned later.it was such a mess that we literally laughed.

We had a wonderful stay at The Queens Arms. The room was very comfortable with super king bed and strong shower. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive without being over exuberant. The breakfast was amazing as was our meal in the restaurant. We will definitely be back.
