There were 6 of us, all adults on a 2 night stay. The whole experience was great. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Our rooms were large, clean with comfortable beds and exceptional views overlooking the beautiful Liver building and Albert dock. Booked two nights for my husband’s birthday. I knew nothing about Liverpool but wanted to take him for a “suprise “ two days.
Sadly the reviews were mixed and I was concerned about how it would be. However, the staff were very welcoming, the hotel although quite basic was clean, comfortable and the view from our bedroom window was lovely. The hotel was situated near the Albert Docks, restaurants and shops.
Breakfast was limited but well cooked and fresh.
Selection of fruit, yogurts, juices were good.
Generally a really lovely suprise!

No shampoo in the bottle throughout the stay - we popped to the shop and bought our own. Plus husband asked for porridge for breakfast, it was made with water not milk and looked like wallpaper paste, he didn't eat it, maybe change this for others for the future. These things did not detract from our stay though.

Perhaps worth considering parking option as included as not always space in the car park given open to use by the public
This hotel was amazing, the staff could not do enough for you and were extremely helpful and really chatty. The breakfast was outstanding and incredible value. The location is in the middle of the city right next to the live of birds which has access within walking distance of 5 to 10 minutes of everything. If I had to find any criticism at all it would probably be that the hotel is a bit dated and the windows could do with a wash but other than that 10 out of 10 superb stay and definitely going back hurry up Travel zoo find me another deal. ❤️

Position and the staff were trying hard to make it work. Reception staff were lovely and the lady trying to cope with breakfast was a star! She deserves a bonus for what she had to put up with

Nice room with fab views let down by shabby carpet and dated fixtures and fittings. Breakfast was a disaster, too few staff, buffet woefully under stocked, poor quality food, toasters hardly working, no jam and lack of both crockery and cutlery. I phoned reception from the dining room to speak to the manager who ‘was in a meeting’. I explained the situation and he arrived at our table shortly afterwards. He is refunding us the cost of the breakfast but it ought not have been allowed to qet into that state.

Only problem we had and that was with Travelzoo,
We were only aloud to book one room, our friends had to phone up separately to book hers, she didn’t have any convermation and had to ring up Travelzoo to get it emailed to her. The hotel is listed as dog friendly but other than you can have a dog in room for which you are charged an extra £20 its is most certainly not dog friendly. They have no set aside areas for those travelling with dogs. This meant we were forced to have breakfast in our room for which they demanded an additional tray charge of £5 which we had not been advised of. The cooked breakfast was awful as by time it got to room it was dried out. When trying to arrange the breakfast the night before we were told there was a card in the room and we just needed to mark off what we wanted and leave on door before 6am the following morning. On returning from dinner that evening there was no card in room. When I quizzed staff I was told the cards had all been thrown out as they had previous hotel owners details on. They then gave us a number to text our choices. On check out I explained to the receptionist that we had not been informed of the tray charge and would she like to refund the £5 charge as a goodwill gesture, she declined. We then lodged numerous formal complaints directly with the hotel management all of which went unanswered despite email received receipts. I would not book to stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it.

Our very clean, spacious room had the very best view of 'The 3 Graces' and the River Mersey - spectacular! The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable, although I would have preferred softer pillows. The desk staff and chambermaids were very helpful and friendly. The Travel zoo price was amazingly good value. Breakfast was very busy on our first morning with only one staff member on duty. The poor woman was rushed off her feet and we had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The breakfast choices were not as special as some hotels we've been to recently. The coffee was acceptable, the cooked breakfast was stone cold - the scrambled eggs were a bit dried up with no options of fried egg the first morning. We missed having options of nuts, seeds and plain oats. Also there were no berries. Although there was perfectly ripe melon and pineapple, together with a standard fruit bowl, the only other fruits were tinned (grapefruit and prunes). The blueberries and delicious looking pastry advertised in the lift were non-existant - just plain croissants and pain au chocolat on offer.

Was a little apprehensive after reading some negative reviews for this hotel but this turned out to be completely unfounded. My room was clean and comfortable had a great walk in shower with plenty of hot water. My friend who has mobility issues had no problems, as there is a small lift in the entrance to get up to the reception area and was allocated the accessible room which was perfect. Extra room around the bed and a wet room bathroom. Fantastic location, ideal for exploring, shopping, restaurants and close to the Cavern Quarter. We were in room 415. Firstly the air conditioning didn't work and was noisy, so I had to turn it off at night because of the noise so the room became uncomfortably warm. The sink plug was stuck down so the water drained very slowly leaving the sink mucky after cleaning teeth etc., the toilet didn't flush all the waste away, no matter how often the toilet was flushed, and finally, we wanted to plug the standard lamp into the plug under the window, but it wouldn't go on properly, making the lamp flush on and off all the time. Didn't feel at all safe. So all in all, very disappointing. It was our 3rd visit, the first two were really good, so a bit of a sour taste. All this was relayed to your receptionist on departure. She noted it, but wonder if anything will actually be done. We feel the room should not be let out in it's current state.

We loved the location of the hotel but felt it was a little tired. Although it wasn't that hot outside the room was very hot and the air condition didn't work. Staff did provide us with a fan on second night.

The Hotel was great, excellent location and bedroom with good views. Breakfast was very nice. Parking available.
Unfortunate we had to cut our two day stay short due to family bereavement but we saw enough of the Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower to want to come back.

Had 2 nights there with my wife. The location was great for accessing the dock sides and the city centre. Walking distance to some very good restaurants. We would stay there again when visiting Liverpool.

On Tuesday morning the breakfast room was extremely busy. Unfortunately there didn't appear to be any system for coping with the numbers. Each member of staff either found you a table, cleared and cleaned tables, restocked food or crockery. No one had a designated job so either things didn't get done or 2 staff replenished bowls/plates etc not knowing it was already being done. Give staff limited but specific tasks and the whole system will work smoother.

The breakfast was satisfactory but the staff, whilst busy with other tasks, did not appear to monitor where items needed replacing ie; cutlery, plates & condiments.

The hotel was great, in a great position with a great room. The only problem was room service for breakfast, we left our order on the door as instructed in plenty of time, the order was still there in the morning. We reported this to reception after restaurant breakfast and was told this would be sorted. The day after same again. It was then to late as we were only there for two nights.

We was upgraded to a suite, which looked lovely but unfortunately the radiators were not working, we was then moved to another suite but there was damp and a damp smell in the room and the carpet to the side of the bed was wet to the touch, the bedroom radiator was also not working. We remained in this same room because I didn't want to move for a third time and just wanted to unpack and go out and enjoy Liverpool. I informed reception of the radiator problem on our way out that same evening. We also reported the state of the room on leaving in the morning. It is not healthy to be breathing in damp whilst asleep and we both felt a little short of breath the next morning. To be honest I wish we had just been put in the original booked room. Thank you
