Very good hotel in an excellent location.

Only minor issue was the very limited wine range available in the restaurant. One of the unexpected outcomes from Covid.

Room at the back of hotel, staff standing outside the building on mobile phones 11pm onwards with raised voices, deliveries early morning. Cold breakfast both serving plates under lamps were brought out cold with food and plates cold.

The maid came in our room and just walked in and was asking us what we needed and what we wanted doing. I have never been asked before. Told her the shower front of tap had come off and she said just leave it. She could have reported it to be fixed.

Our room was nice and reception area welcoming. For £109 for cream tea and breakfast was a good deal but I’d advise booking a local restaurant for dinner
Other Comments
The hotel has no atmosphere. There isn’t enough good cosy seating around the bar area. Food in the restaurant was very average. Bar manager a little rude; my husband’s coffee wasn’t particularly hot, he took back to the bar and he’s response was ‘ but I’ve only just made it’. All a bit lack lustre.

Nice areas for us to play scrabble. Delicious cream tea.

Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds with lawns down to the lake. Rooms are comfortable and attractive, with modern bathrooms. Dinner was excellent with a good choice from a table d'hote menu, in a pleasant open dining room. Breakfast was inclusive with a comprehensive buffet. Unfortunately the inclusive afternoon cream tea was minimal for two small scones and pot of tea, although the prosecco was a nice touch.
Other Comments
The hotel had adopted a completely open attitude to Covid, following the recent government advice concerning 'personal choice', having removed all the screens at the bar and reception, and no longer had any signs requesting masks to be worn where possible. As a result no staff were wearing masks, nor any guests that we saw, even though the dining room was full at breakfast. The only gestures to Covid protection were sanitiser stations at various places. It did not feel very Covid secure compared to other places we have stayed recently.

Pleasant enough 3 night stay for a group of 8 golfers under 'semi-covid' conditions - no bed-making or replenishing of toiletries unless requested. A few little hiccup issues with a number of things but nothing major.
Other Comments
On our first night, after dinner in the hotel restaurant, we retired to the bar and ordered 5 coffee's with 5 brandy's - only ONE brandy glass available in the bar and with the cheapest brandy at £10 a pop, to get it served in a whisky tumbler, in such an elegantly looking place is a very poor show. I have at least half a dozen brandy glasses in my own home !

Mostly good. Bedroom was a bit claustrophobic. Permanent frosted panel covering half the window therefore no view. Wardrobe much too small. Given option not to have room cleaned or fresh towels but no reduction in price.. Cream tea and evening meals were delicious. Breakfast was disappointing. Most of it was barely warm and everything was very overcooked.

Lovely hotel, lovely breakfast
Other Comments
Afternoon cream tea with Fizz only included 2 scones, jam & cream, would have liked to have known this beforehand, rather disappointing as it was a birthday treat. No option to upgrade was offered by the hotel when checking in.
