Potentially lovely hotel but going through a renovation. Lovely staff, Room 12 very hot and stuffy. no ventilation. Window could not be opened. Main stair rails alarmingly loose near our room. Hot water scalding and could not adjust shower cool enough to use. Taps in bathroom open wrong way! Annoying. Having said that we had a lovely time and it was excellent value for money.

Friendly staff, good food, and drinks for a 4* hotel was very reasonably priced. The only issues we encountered were worn mattresses, and the fact that our keys had deactivated prior to check out. This wasn't limited to just ourselves, but appeared to have affected wide a few guests.

Had a lovely time. Bed was enormous; evening meals were very tasty; there was an excellently broad buffet for breakfast (the cooked-to-order veggie sausages were exceptional); the staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel claims to be 4*. Very little of what we experienced was up to this standard. The room was large, warm and comfortable, but we couldn’t open the window. The bathroom provision was limited - just two (large) towels (no small towels) and soap in a dispenser. Breakfast was fine and the breakfast room was also fine however the evening meal was definitely like a budget pub - both the style of menu, choices and quality of food. The staff are sometimes hard to find. Never rude, but not particularly welcoming. Despite this, it was a pleasant stay and good value for money.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Park House Hotel. We were most impressed with the friendliness of the staff from the receptionists when we first arrived, to the staff in the restaurant and not forgetting the maids who cleaned the bedrooms. Noting was too much trouble for anyone.

The location in the town was very good. The exterior of the buildings and grounds, including parking was excellent. The complementary bottle of rose wine was pleasant. The staff were nice and friendly.
Other Comments
Only 1 large towel in bathroom. Despite asking a member of staff this was not rectified. No face soap. Food was of poor quality in the evening. First night: Prawn cocktail was one very tough piece of lettuce, 5 small prawns and a couple of spoons full of dressing on the top. Icecream scoops were small (but nice flavour). (That was all we could eat as we weren’t hungry.) Second night: We had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and then a very long time to be served. The food was barely warm! “Dining” room space was inadequate. When it came to paying the bill we could not understand the methodology of arriving at the final amount. On arrival we’d been told that the £25pp credit for dinner was only valid on the first night and yet on paying our bill it was inferred that some credit had been allowed because we hadn’t spent it all on the first night.
