The Woodford Bridge Country Club was originally a coaching inn from the 15th century. Apartments and lodges are scattered throughout the grounds, set against the rolling, green countryside.
Leisure facilities include an indoor heated pool, hot tub, fitness centre, and sauna. The spa and beauty salon are available at a supplement. There are also squash courts and a games room with table tennis and pool.
RHS Garden Rosemoor is 20 minutes' drive away. Experience 65 acres of horticultural heritage, complete with rose gardens, flower shows, and gardening workshops.
The charming fishing village of Clovelly is about 30 minutes' drive away. From here, you can explore Blackchurch Rock and more of the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast.
Hartland Abbey has been a backdrop for "The Night Manager", "Sense and Sensibility", and "Rebecca". It is 35 minutes' drive away.
The boundaries of Exmoor National Park are approximately an hour's drive away. Countryfile named The Valley of Rocks one of the best places to take a spring walk.

Upon check in all guests occupying the unit including children are required to present a valid form of identification along with the confirmation of your reservation.
The property requires a valid credit card to charge a refundable security deposit of £100 per apartment upon check in. Your deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay upon inspection of your apartment(s) however please note the funds will only appear in your account once processed by your financial institution.
If you intend to arrive later than midnight on your arrival date please notify the resort as soon as possible.

We were delighted with our true 'home from home'. The lodge was well presented and very clean indeed. It smelled completely fresh throughout with no discernible odours - the only time we have experienced this away from home. The bedding was crisp, fresh and comfortable. The range of kitchen equipment was quite sufficient and the appliances all easy to operate. A quality breakfast / drinks pack was ready in the kitchen for our use on arrival, included in the price. The farmland views from our lodge were very uplifting and the site was quiet at night. The appearance of a peacock outside our holiday home only added to the overall enjoyment. We had some lovely experiences exploring the local area. We'd recommend Blackberry Farm down the road for coffee, lunch and home-baked freezer food who are suppliers to the site shop as well. This is handy because at the time of writing, there is no restaurant catering on site and the country location is quite a drive away from local eateries. We certainly enjoyed our stay here and would return. Our friends have been impressed with our photos.

The style of the check-in was rather officious. Not at all impolite, just a bit OTT in terms of the number of documents to be signed. Also, there was an administrative confusion re: our check out involving the cleaning and maintenance guys which was a bit awkward but we didn't mind too much as we'd had such a lovely time and it all turned out alright in the end.

I had a lovely solo trip - the accommodation was comfortable and clean and I felt well serviced by all staff in all areas. You need a car to get about which I did during my stay. The leisure club on site is great and has a bar upstairs where we played Bingo on one of my evenings. There was also a local food van selling curries which was a pleasant surprise and the staff are happy for you to eat this anywhere on their premises including the bar. Everyone I came into contact with was pleasant and welcoming.

We didn't realise the 'apartments' are on 3 floors, with no lift, their website does not make this clear. We were placed on the top floor, and when we asked were told that equivalent rooms on the ground and first floors were fully booked. Upgrading to a better room would have cost us an extra £50/night! I would recommend anyone who has difficulty with stairs to phone at the time of booking to request a ground floor room, and if none are available cancel the booking. Further, there are not enough parking spaces adjacent to the apartments for everyone to park , so if you are out of luck you have to go to the main car park 200 yards away up a steep hill.

The one bed-roomed apartments are supposedly for 4, with a sofa bed in the living room. They would be very cramped with 4 adults in.
The breakfast packs are very good but they only put 3 tea bags and 4 packs of sugar in our room. Happily we had brought our own . The kitchen is tiny, with a draining board only big enough to hold one plate - no room to have one person washing and another drying!

The lodge was comfortable, clean, and a great place to relax. The breakfast pack was a really nice touch and made the mornings easy and enjoyable.
The staff on reception were great—very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food van was also a nice addition and added a bit of fun and convenience. The pool area was good and the surrounding area is lovely.
The only let down was the bar area. It didn’t really match the rest of the place—it felt a bit messy with chairs everywhere and just seemed like an odd, poorly organised space compared to how nice everything else was.

We were in the area to visit a family member and to visit RHSRosemoor. It worked well for this but there’s not much around otherwise.

We were provided with 2 tea bags for 2 adults for a 2day stay. We asked at reception if we could have more but they refused and we were told it was company policy. They were happy to sell us 10 tea bags for £1. This seems particularly mean! Also, the selection of mini cereals (rice crispies etc) would have been fine for a family with children but not fine for 2 adults.

Used as a base to visit family who live nearby. Great staff - nothing too much trouble and eager to please. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and whilst a little dated (the decor and type of wood on fittings) it was a brilliant space, with plenty of room to relax and everything you needed provided. The bonus of an onsite swimming pool, made for a fantastic break for us

Great facilities and accommodation at a reasonable price. Good location for visiting N Devon attractions, although you will need to drive to them. Friendly and helpful staff. The heated indoor pool and gym, sauna etc are another lovely bonus.

There are no restaurants or pubs in the immediate vicinity so you'll need to drive if you want to eat out. This is fine for some, but will be a nuisance for others. All the more so because the on site restaurant closed some time ago. Some of the accommodations are up a steep winding incline which might be a problem for people with mobility issues. Having said all that, you just need to be aware of these issues and if they do not concern you then I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time like we did.

We arrived after 5 to be told there was breakfast stuff for the next day it was not we phoned and waited
Wanted to go buy ourselves food plus coffee as we were given just one satchet of fresh ground coffee with nothing to brew in
The next day electricity went at 10 am till 11 we were going out to the whisky place which was an hour so we left without eating breakfast Sunday same thing happened electricity went at 10 so we left without breakfast really bad they said it was local problem u will think they had generators
Oh and breakfast is 6 eggs a loaf of bread milk orange juice and small jar of jam
That is not breakfasts so maybe if they do mention what they give so people can bring their own stuff as it is in the middle of nowhere
The shower is a joke
Shower gel not much soap on the wash basin not much so we went and bought our own stuff rather than phone them and whinge

What a wonderful find! Friendly staff, well appointed and clean accommodation, well equipped kitchen and a very nice pool and sauna area. The property is rural, so perhaps more suited to adults than children, although the value for money and well proportioned accommodation makes for an inexpensive and enjoyable visit.

Very friendly and comfortable stay from start to finish. The accommodation was excellent - spacious and all to a high standard.
We used the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc whilst there which was all well organised and maintained and complimentary with the deal.
The restaurant and bar on site were not open during the stay but the staff were really helpful in recommending local places to eat.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here and would not hesitate to stay again.

A very central location perfect for our stay as it was only about a 12 min drive to join the Tarka trail were we cycled from Torrington -Bideford-Barnstable.and back , also on 2nd day we visited Bude which was about 25mins away , the pool was a decent size with a nice clean sauna,steam room & jacuzzi, overall a very pleasant stay , all staff very helpful & friendly.

Amazing lodge, quality fixtures and fittings with comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen and excellent welcome pack. Grounds beautiful with abundance of wildlife and, of course, the beautiful peacocks. Sadly no restaurant facilities but bar area available (this could be improved decor wise) with fun activities held.

Our first visit- we wanted 3 nights so booked Travel Zoo for 2 nights and contacted and booked the extra night directly with the hotel
This went pretty smoothly
We enjoyed our stay the only criticism would be that it’s quiet isolated and it was a 2 mile drive to the nearest pub serving food ( the Union Inn at Stib Cross) which was good but quite busy- need to book!

Excellent value for money you can’t expect more when you pay so little. I could moan and say it needs a refresh or the pool which they say is open is always closed. Lots of silly things but didn’t spoil our break as we were only using it as an overnight base.

The hotel was lovely. The room was clean only draw down was that the heating in the room did not work.
When we informed them they put in a separate heater which was lovely.
We went to the leisure Center is with a warm indoor Pool.

Paperwork on arrival was lengthy and caused a queue. This could all be sent and completed before arrival. Cobwebs in #7 bedroom need cleaning. Overall a great stay.

Our stay was delightful. We loved the cottage, it was warm clean and extremely cosy. Everything was of good quality, we especially loved the bedding, with the best duvet I've ever slept under. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and we felt the breakfast packs were very generous. We loved the pool and leisure centre too. And all the staff were friendly and helpful. We will certainly come again..

Lovely 2 night stay. Real value for money. Breakfast pack included was good. We had a double room which was beautifully refurbished and had a microwave, toaster, kettle and everything needed for two people to eat breakfast. We enjoyed the leisure facilities (not yet refurbished but still enjoyable). It was a bit out of the way but quiet. I would happily go back.

Very good quality accommodation at a good price. Breakfast pack made it really easy. It’s a shame the restaurant and bar were closed. If these were available it would have 5 stars all around. There was a problem with the water supply on the first night but we were kept informed on progress of the repair etc by text which was handy.Bottled water and a bowser were provided as replacement.

Booking in was a nightmare. Having traveled quite a distance, we were anxious to get to our room and rest up a bit before going out to Shebbear to the village Inn. We were confronted with page after page on a screen which I was asked to sign without really having the patience, or inclination to read. I was asked to pay £100 in case we trashed the room - We are 83 and 86, not teenagers. I can understand any hotel taking a card impression and making it clear that any damage would be charged to one's card, but not to actually debit one's bank account and then be told that, because I don't have a credit card,, it would take longer to re-credit my account.
The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. There was no bar, or restaurant, available. We therefore had to drive four miles to Shebbear one night and The Bradworthy Inn on the second night. Whilst the state of the roads to reach these Inns is no fault of the Woodford Bridge Country Club had there been a bar and restaurant on site, there would have been no need to go out. I have never experienced so many potholes in my life and, it is a wonder our Volvo has any shock absorbers left , as the car took a real hammering.
Our visit to this country club should have been a good experience, but sadly, for the reasons given, it wasn't, and I don't appreciate at our time of life, being distrusted to leave our room as we found it. Certainly not to the extent of having £100 taken from my bank account and then leaving in the hope of it being refunded.

The club suite room in the main building was spacious and nicely decorated. It was good to have a microwave to use. The breakfast pack from the local farm was delicious and much appreciated. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
