This Travelzoo offer was incredibly good value. The hotel was lovely and in a great location. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We really appreciated the dog treats and bowl left in our room and being able to take our dog to such a lovely hotel. Everyone and everything was really dog friendly. Thank you.

The service and attentiveness was excellent, a very welcoming stay with friendly staff. Questions and requests dealt with. Nice walk along the coast from the back of the hotel. Easy reach of Berwick and also Lindisfarne/holy island which we re ommend visiting.

Room 7 we stayed in was lovely. Minor suggestions are having a light above mirror in bathroom, remove drain cover to allow the water to drain away quickly in the shower, add a powerful extractor fan to remove steam from bathroom. Perhaps have a room safe.

The staff were under pressure as there were many guests arriving on the Friday evening for a Saturday wedding. They were unfailing polite, friendly and helpful.
Dinner was beautifully presented and delicious. Breakfast too was very tasty with considerable choice.
I was surprised that we were not permitted to have a glass of still wine instead of prosecco. The waitress was very polite but said it was not allowed. This was the first time this has happened in a Travelzoo offer.
A map of the coastal path or local walks would have been appreciated.
A very good value offer which we hope will be repeated so that we can return to this little gem.
Thank you.

Small bed let room down. We are used to a super king at home but expected a king-size at the hotel which is acceptable. However slept badly as bed was only a standard size. Also tv had poor reception when we wanted to watch some coverage of winter Olympics. Shame these two things pulled rating for room from 5 star to 4. Lovely bathroom with great walk in shower.

A lovely manor house on the coast. Easy access to the coastal path and a few minutes drive from Berwick. Excellent food and very welcoming staff , treat yourself to the tasting menu - the accompanying wines were also well selected. Nice rooms - mini bar and coffee machine a nice touch. The only slight downside was permitting a dog into the breakfast area/ restaurant. The travel zoo deal was well worth having , given the quality of this hotel its staff and food.

We were in a room above the kitchen and the noise of the extractor fan was annoying from 7am til 10pm. Also the room had little storage so we had to live out of the suitcases, which isn't great. The hotel is just north of Berwick on Tweed on the coastal pathway, with sea views. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and attentive. We had our dog with us and they made such a fuss of her. We had the opportunity to visit lots f coastal villages that we’ve never been to before- all a short drive away.
Food at the hotel was excellent, from breakfast to dinner, which ranged from fish and chips to fine dining. I would gladly visit again. We had a great time.

A few observations. Paintwork a little damaged in places, including the front door. No lighting beside a mirror in the bedroom /bathroom (room 18) and no electric socket near a mirror. Pillows firm. (I prefer soft)
A curtain in the dining room had partially come off its hooks. Noticed this at dinner. Still the same the next day.
Fillet of beef overcooked (for all four of us) Ordered medium, received it well done. We still enjoyed it.

First visit and thoroughly enjoyed our three days. Staff are outstanding: warm, professional and friendly. Room was excellent in all respects especially the classy new bathroom. Walk in shower a stand out. Hotel food is never going to please everyone. My husband and I have just returned from 2 day night visit in the truly lovely hotel. The whole place is just amazing- the building itself, the room, the grounds, the food, the bar.....and every member of staff we dealt with was first class. Really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We were in a classic room, number 16 overlooking the sea. It exceeded our expectations- the more expensive rooms must be very fancy indeed! We have a lot of weekend breaks from our home in the northwest and have had upgraded rooms many times that were not as nice. A great visit- lovely atmosphere amongst staff and guests too when Storm Amy knocked out the electricity on our first night!
A great first visit- a smart and classy hotel with excellent facilities, yet still retaining a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend and we will go back for sure.
