Why We Love This Hotel

  • There are almost 500 listed buildings in Ludlow, but with its "incredible Jacobean façade" (The Daily Telegraph) The Feathers Hotel is one of the most recognisable. Built in the 17th century, it gets its name from the feather motifs that adorned its exterior in tribute to the Prince of Wales.
  • Use your dinner credit in the Plume@Feathers restaurant, awarded an AA Rosette this year.
  • Head to the Ludlow Museum, the ruins of Ludlow Castle, and St Laurence's Church to learn more about the town's history—they are all approximately five minutes' walk from hotel.
  • The hotel is five minutes' drive from the borders of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape.
  • For panoramic views over the castle and town make for the Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve, 20 minutes' walk from the hotel. The town is also a great base from which to explore the woodlands, hills, and valleys of The Welsh Marches.

Rambling hotel with a few steps up and down a long winding corridor . Lovely room and bathroom . Not as clean as could have been. Fridge not working.

Overall a good experience. Slightly less than very good due to minor potholes. Lack of glasses (drinking) /lavatory brush in bathroom, working bedside light (which not repaired despite asking on arrival.).And frustrating - on occasions very slow table service (20 minutes before breakfast order taken). Otherwise very good. Very comfortable bedroom. Helpful friendly staff. Just needs a tad more on the ball management?
