Excellent location for exploring the Chilterns and Oxfordshire. Comfortable and clean. Some noise from traffic, but it is summer, with windows open. Staff very polite and helpful. Room small, but adequate and well-equipped eg two fans in the height of summer. Good parking facilities. Excellent buffet breakfast provided in pleasant surroundings. Would certainly return.

Nobody on reception as we were leaving,so nobody to leave our comments with
Although the rooms and bedding were superficially clean, the wardrobe shelves were very dusty as was the unit holding the drinks basket
The basket itself being very dusty too.
Also cobwebs weee apparent in several places.
Although these are negative comments we did enjoy our stay .
Included breakfasts were very good

Terrible service. Dated room. Very poor breakfast choice. Hardly any fruit. Only One coffee machine. Evening meal in restaurant- poor, paid £24 for pork but virtually no pork visible… was all stuffing and fat! Very noisy bedroom at times. Could hear every word spoken in room next to us.

Excellent staff, excellent food in the restaurant.
Room and ensuite large and comfortable. Lovely convenient location with some great views.
Buffet breakfast hot items could have been kept warmer but there was a great choice otherwise.
Quiet times meant an obvious lack of staff, as reception desk staff doubled as bar staff during the afternoon, resulting in a wait to be served.

The design of the building was great, the older parts were a pleasure to look at, there were many beautiful villages & towns in the local area.

Pair of dirty mens socket found in wardrobe on day of checkout. No staff at reception to tell. (0810) Lack of vegetarian options. Dirty glasses left outside from previous afternoon. No means to control Aircon in room, had to get reception to turn it off. Coach party arrived, waiters seemed wholley unprepared next morning, people left standing waiting for a clean table. People standing waiting for cups, bowls etc etc. transport is essential for even a walk ! Nothing at all in walking distance from the hotel. The lady with the blond hair behind the bar is a delight, as was the English (?) lady on reception on Saturday pm. The lady who called round to service the room was also very pleasant. Not at all the standard we expected from a 4* hotel.

A perfectly placed hotel for exploring the pretty town of Thame.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Aga in particular is a credit to the team. She went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our two night stay, she even made sure we could watch the Traitors final on the TV in the bar! That’s hospitality at its finest- nothing was too much trouble for her!
Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the garden. It was quiet with a large comfortable bed, ambient lighting and had all we needed for our visit including complimentary toiletries and a well stocked tea tray. The room came complete with safe and a fridge. My only criticism would be that the bathroom is a little dated and could do with a bit of TLC. Please take slippers with you as you’ll need them- the bathroom floor is tiled and very cold underfoot and there is also no heating or heated towel rail which didn’t make for a pleasant bathing experience although the hot water was plentiful.

I have to say, the food served in the restaurant is absolutely outstanding! We were a party of four and ate in the restaurant both nights, and although the meals were a tad expensive they really were worth the money. The drinks were reasonably priced though which was a surprise considering there isn’t a lot of competition in the area.
We all had a wonderful stay and wouldn’t hesitate in returning. A big thank you to everyone at The Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel!

Evening staff were very surly. We were in the bar when a lady on the next table asked for some more gravy on her meal and was told she would have to pay extra for it. I asked the barman how far it was into Thame and was advised it was about 30 - 40 minutes drive.
In the morning at breakfast, my wife told a member of staff that there were no teabags left and that the coffee/hot water machine had stopped working. She was rudely told that breakfast stopped 5 minutes ago! This however, was addressed by the staff, as another guest had already complained.
