- The Welcombe Hotel is set amidst 157 acres of Italian-style landscaped gardens on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon. The Grade II-listed Jacobean-style hotel, which was originally built in 1886, features an oak-panelled lounge with a large fireplace.
- The property is around 10 minutes' drive from Stratford-upon-Avon, a historic market town and the famed birthplace of William Shakespeare. The town is home to The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the Swan Theatre, and the scenic River Avon.
- Warwick Castle is less than 15 minutes' drive away, and Anne Hathaway's Cottage—a picturesque timbered farmhouse that was the childhood home of Shakespeare's wife—is in the nearby village of Shottery, about a mile west of Stratford-upon-Avon. The edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is around 20 minutes' drive from the hotel.

Wonderful food and most excellent service, all the staff were friendly and most helpful. We were offered a complimentary room upgrade with no fuss when we expressed surprise at the small size of the executive room we had booked. The hotel does need a little refurbishment but the friendly welcoming atmosphere more than made up for it.

Great location and surroundings. Staff friendly.
Value for money for deal, evening meal Exellent.
Breakfast Good and also complimentary bottle of wine. Room quite tired and in need of TLC, would recommend this deal but pay more for room upgrade.

Great deal but can standard rooms be given an uplift.

Check-in was a 'mare. Check-in time was 4pm, a bit late in the day in my opinion but it was more like 4.20 before my room was ready. The check-in staff on the Sunday I arrived had a attitude. They need to get over themselves. At 4pm the queue at reception was 10 deep. I have a photo.
Beyond that the pool and sauna was ok but there was no spa options available and no one was able to provide any information on it.
The dinner was great. The best part of the stay. Breakfast was ok.
All in all it was a bit expensive for an overnight stay.

The hotel is a beautiful old hotel with some beautiful features, staff pleasant food excellent, the room sadly needed some tlc as it let down an otherwise perfect stay.

Our room in dire need of update, lots of bad points. Silverfish in bathroom window frames extremely shabby in desperate need of repair as was the bath panel. Making it look very tatty.

Did not try Spa so unable to comment . Returned as last went 10 years ago ….. nice to reminisce and enjoy Stratford upon Avon .

Sadly now a Very tired hotel in need of major refurbishment, mouldy grouting in shower tiles , could write a book ! Very uncomfortable bed & pillows , all windows painted sealed unable to open , Short of staff , food choices on evening menu very bizarre nothing plain for elderly no fish option . No brown bread . I had taken 88yr old mother for birthday . The weather was great but room so hot & stuffy unable to get air into room , despite it being an accessible room .
