I am sorry to say that the scrambled egg at breakfast was not very nice at all. It looked and tasted like powdered egg. Other than that, everything was fine. The grounds are spectacular!

Service at the hotel was very good in the restaurant and bar.. Room was ok,bathroom not cleaned properly, radiator dirty and dirt around the bathroom door.
Communication with the hotel extremely bad. Twice they said they would get back to me but ne er recieved a reply.
Website says you except blue light card but it actually doesn't. Apparently its optional for the hotel and this hotel doesn't except it. Disgraceful in my opinion.

Myself and my friend had a lovely 2 days in Stratford. The hotel itself is in a lovely location. The room was very large but uncomfortably hot as we were in te eaves of the hotel. The curtain were hanging from the ceiling and looked as if they had been eaten by mice. \we couldn't open the windows properly and if we could have they were so old & dirty that they may have fallen out. Our carpet was extremely soiled.

The restaurant food was excellent, however this was let down by not enough front of house staff. We had to ask for a table to be cleaned, cutlery, cups and even ask the staff to replenish breakfast food, as they kept running out. We had to ask for our starters, as we waited 45 mins, to then be informed that the kitchen had forgotten our order. The spa itself was nice but not enough lounge seats to sit on, we had to stand when not using the facilites.

The breakfasts weren't to the same standard as everything else, we thought: I waited for at least 10 minutes for some scrambled eggs and mushrooms on the first morning; on our second morning, there was no fruit ,no glasses for juice, and no cheese. Obviously, we had other food to eat, but it wasn't quite what we expected.

We had a very relaxing mini break at the Welcombe hotel which is in a superb rural location just outside of Stratford on Avon. We enjoyed a good quality evening meal on the first night and two lovely breakfasts during our stay. We also made use of their nice spa and pool . Our room was fine on the lower ground floor and we slept well in a very comfortable King Size bed.

The bedroom and ensuite while generally fine , does look a little dated and probably needs upgrading.

Hotel was very traditional in appearance but very warm throughout our rainy, windy visit. Rooms were huge but a bit tired and in need of a little TLC but nothing that I would bother complaining about. In contrast, the spa was very modern and well equipped. Staff were all very pleasant throughout our stay. Breakfast was hot, nicely cooked and plentiful, with options for vegan or light eating. We had a very nice evening meal included on our first day. I had Rib eye steak which was very nice but had a £15 supplement, which we thought was a little steep but husband had the pork belly which was part of the inclusive meal offer. Both very nice. The hotel is only 1.7 miles outside Stratford and, had the weather been better, we would have walked in but we called a taxi, which came very quickly and was just under £8 for 4 of us. We had a really pleasant stay and would definitely stay there again.

Overall, we had a great time at the Welcombe Hotel, Golf & Spa. We went as a couple, to stay somewhere with easy access to Stratford upon avon and this Hotel is right on the door step [5 minute drive away]. We had a deal for a 2 night stay, B&B, with Dinner on the first night. The welcome was great and the room [executive double] was huge, with a large bed, dressing area and bathroom with shower, bath and double sinks! Breakfast was fabulous. We had a small blip on the first night with dinner, as a ticket was lost, but the response of the staff and the hotel could not have been more impressive. We were given a three course meal with drinks on the second night, but to be honest it wasn't just about the food [which was superb btw] the extra attention to detail that the staff took to ensure we had a fabulous stay was second to none. Both duty managers, darren and claire, supported by the teams on both nights, could not have been better in the way they looked after us. Darren for recognising the error and then Claire for welcoming us and delivering a wonderful evening [thur 16.10.25]. Claire really went the extra mile and some, on the thursday night to ensure we had a great evening. Thank you, we really appreciated. Mateus at breakfast also was a delight. We also used the spa facilities, Che on the reception and then Sally in the treatment room were lovely, as well as first rate facilities. Does the building need a little cosmetic attention in places, yes, but that didn't detract from the grandeur of the building, the staff and the rooms, making our stay such a lovely experience. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and thank everyone involved for helping to make our stay a happy one. When i say all staff i mean all staff were fabulous.

The spa & all its facilities were out of service. The manager was rude & uncaring & did nothing to resolve the situation. It was my daughter’s 40th Birthday & she has severe mental health challenges which is why we booked a hotel which had spa facilities attached. The manager just kept offering a swimming pool on the other side of town a half an hour journey through traffic. When I kept telling him this wouldn’t work for us because of my daughter’s mental health challenges he walked away from me! Unbelievable rudeness doesn’t describe this man. Please don’t use this hotel it has appalling customer service and completely disrespects customers.

Fabulous weather so great to walk to Stratford-upon-Avon and wander the sights. We booked this hotel because it included 1 day in the spa which was closed the 3 days we were there. We found out afterwards that other people had been offered use of the sister hotel's spa facilities, but we weren't offered this even though we asked daily. They didn't offer anything to compensate us in any way.

Location buildings and grounds wonderful . Rooms noticeably tired ( worn carpets, stained wallpaper ) traditionally furnished, we were in executive room , bed comfortable, spa facilities good . Staff friendly and helpful . Restaurant dining experience disappointing ( food and coffee lukewarm - sent back) and long time spent waiting for courses . Took 3 hours to dine. - Assumed short staffed in restaurant tho no issue with the approach of staff who served us and dealt well with our concerns .

We recently stayed at The Welcome Hotel and Spa for one night on a TravelZoo deal, and overall, we had an enjoyable experience, though there were a few drawbacks.
The room we were initially given clearly reflected the "offer" nature of our booking — it had a generator positioned directly outside the window and was noticeably noisy. This was a bit disappointing on arrival, but the rest of the hotel made up for it in many ways.
The hotel itself and the surrounding grounds are absolutely stunning, providing a beautiful setting for a relaxing break. We made great use of the spa facilities, which were well-equipped and clean — a definite highlight of our stay.
We were pleasantly surprised at dinner, as the staff kindly offered us a three-course meal instead of the two included in our deal. The food was very good, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. However, the service did leave something to be desired — we waited over half an hour for dessert and had to ask for it in the end.
Despite a few hiccups, we genuinely enjoyed our stay. While the overall standard wasn’t quite what we had expected, the value for money with the TravelZoo deal was excellent. We would return and are happy to recommend the deal to others looking for a short, relaxing getaway.

Hotel and room were lovely and characteristic, but could do with a bit of maintenance. When we arrived the rain was pouring in from the ceiling behind the blinds. Someone came and brought some towels to put on the window sill. When it wasn’t raining it was ok. The sink in the bathroom was cracked in several places from one side to the other.
The dinner was good and the service was good. The first morning at breakfast was ok, but there was only melon and apples for the fruit. The second morning for breakfast there was no muesli, no fruit or pastries and the English breakfast was streaky bacon not back. I asked if they had a muesli they said they would look for me. I waited a good 15 minutes and eventually they found a packet. When I asked about the fruit they said they didn’t have any. When we passed the dining room about half an hour later they suddenly had some fruit in a bowl!
The spa area was lovely. The swimming pool, jacuzzi indoor and out and the steam room etc were good . We spent about two hours there. There were some chairs to sit on and we managed to get the last two. I think they could have done with a few more.
The gardens were lovely, but there was not a lot of room to walk much further in the grounds as it was all golf courses.
All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant, helpful and friendly.
Good location to Stratford upon Avon, but it is a drive of 1.8 miles.

Room 118 is spacious but really needs redecorating. It looks out over the bins and a 6:30am bin collection/delivery did not help. Staff were friendly. Food was to a good standard. Lovely setting. The walk into Stratford took us 25 minutes but was easy enough. Illness meant we never got to use the Spa, so can't comment on that.

Staff were very good especially Valentina on reception. When she discovered we were celebrating a 54th wedding announcement, she upgraded our room to a magnificent suite, overlooking the garden and golf course. It made our stay very special. Also the chef made us a special treat on a plate at the end of our meal with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. A special touch, obviously instigated by Valentino.
