Why We Love This Hotel

  • Hotel Indigo Newcastle is less than five minutes' walk from Newcastle railway station and Grainger Market, a Grade I-listed covered market that houses local traders, small businesses, artisan bakeries, high-quality butchers, and more.
  • Facilities at the hotel include a 24-hour exercise room and the Grainger Restaurant.
  • Newcastle Castle is 10 minutes away on foot; head to the roof for great views of the city and the River Tyne.
  • Sage Gateshead, one of Tyneside's premier concert destinations, and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art are around 20 minutes' walk away on the Quayside.
  • Quayside, an area with popular bars and restaurants, is a 15-minute walk away.
  • We recommend a trip to Jesmond Dene, a river valley in the north of the city. You can follow the Ouseburn back to the city centre, stopping for pictures by its waterfall and ruined water mill, and maybe spot a kingfisher or red squirrel. Start your walk from Castles Farm Road—around 20 minutes from the hotel via bus or Metro.

Overall enjoyed it but not as good as it was. One starters arrived when everyone else had finished theirs. Rump steak with dinner was tough. Give us coffees on the house. Waitress was lovely. Soap dispensers in bathroom didn't work and neither did the telephone reported it but wasn't put right.
