Escape to the Irish coast and stay at the former home of the Jameson whiskey dynasty. Portmarnock Resort & Golf Links overlooks the Velvet Strand, a 5-mile sandy beach. Spend two nights here for £240. We found savings of £54 on one date—you otherwise save up to £128 on booking direct.
What was filmed nearby? Portmarnock's sand dunes and the nearby village of Howth were used as scenic backdrops in the romantic comedy, "Love, Rosie". The film stars Lily Collins and Sam Claflin.

Why We Love This Hotel
- The property was home to John Jameson III, the grandson of the Jameson Distillery founder, in 1847. Original artworks hang in the hotel bar, as well as replica portraits of his grandparents. Some family members were laid to rest on the grounds.
- Breakfast is served at the 1780 restaurant. Named after the year John Jameson established the triple pot-still distillation method. All other meals are taken at The Seaview restaurant or Jameson Bar.
- Portmarnock Resort & Golf Links won Ireland's Best Golf Hotel of 2025. The 18-hole course is spread across 203 acres of rugged peninsula (green fees apply). There are also a gym (free for guests) and spa (fees apply) on-site.
- Visit Malahide's 12th-century castle and gardens—a 10-minute drive away. The quaint fishing village of Howth, known for its clifftop walks and seafood restaurants, is 20 minutes' drive away.
- Dublin Airport is less than 25 minutes' drive from the hotel. The Jameson Distillery, in Dublin's city centre, can be reached in about 40 minutes.
