Why We Love This Hotel
- Charles Norton, a local mill owner, built Bagden Hall on a hillside in Denby Dale in the 1860s. It was renovated and turned into a hotel in the late 20th century.
- The historic property sits amid mature gardens with a lake, a stone bridge, and a folly.
- Norton's Bar & Lounge is a casual spot for snacks, light lunches, and pre-dinner drinks. Dinner is served in the Glendale Restaurant that overlooks the gardens.
- Yorkshire Sculpture Park showcases works by renowned artists like Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Damien Hirst, and many others. It is 10 minutes' drive from the hotel.
- The starting point of the "Last of the Summer Wine" country walk is 20 minutes' drive away. The 5-mile circular walk, named after the popular TV series, takes you through the countryside around Holmfirth.
