Why We Love This Hotel

Roomzzz York City is peacefully situated just outside the encircling Medieval walls by the River Ouse.

We did find locating Roomzzz difficult at first, once we spoke to reception staff they advised us the best walking route into the city centre.

I would highly recommend Roomzzz all areas very clean staff friendly and helpful. The room was spotless with everything you would need. Free coffee provided all day also a croissant for breakfast. we would be more than happy to return to Roomzzz york.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay - enjoyed our clean and tidy apartment, and had excellent service from Mel the receptionist who was very welcoming and helped us to settle in. No doubt about it, we will defo be using Roomzzz again.

Clean, great location, very friendly, professional and helpful staff. Lovely hot and roomy shower. Very comfy and cosy bed. Free hot drinks and croissants was a lovely extra.

Additional room card would have been useful as the power went off if you took the card out. Poor choice of TV channels, neighbouring guests accidentally connected to our TV. No option to log into our own streaming services like Netflix.

Excellent location just a short 10 min stroll to the centre of York. Rooms was beyond our expectation. Room was spotlessly clean,very well equipped including ,microwave ,hob ,toaster fridge dishwasher, crockery, iron indeed, nice modern bathroom with spacious shower all in all you need. Ample secure parking although there is a charge. Reception area very spacious and ample seating. Very polite and helpful staff all in all a first class experience.

Very well equipped modern hotel and rooms, just a short 10min stroll from York city centre. Great location right beside the River Ouse. would defineately use these aparthotels again.

Room itself was quite nicely presented, you had a fridge and a microwave, and kettle, induction hob, dishwasher and some cutlery and glasses. Didnt use anything but the kettle and fridge, they worked ok. The croissant in the morning was quite nice, and the downstairs reception area looked quite nice, the outside seating area looked nice, and the location is nice and pleasant around the hotel with the trees and river just opposite, though I dont feel bad for not paying more for the room with a river view, as you wouldnt have seen it for the trees directly in front of the hotel)

When we arrived at the hotel, the staff could not confirm if we had already paid for the room or not. They werent really helpful or friendly at all, just indifferent really. I tried to check my phone for any booking details from Travelzoo but that was not much help, and I had to try and search through all of my bank apps (which took ages) to see if I can see the a transaction for it, but could not. So in the end I paid for the room and got my key, and went upto our room (after about 20 mins of messing as above) and then the key did not work to open the door. I went back down to sort that out and was greeted again by the same indifferent receptionist. When asked if I wanted 2 keys, I said I would like 2 please yes, but was only given 1. At least when I went back up this one did work this time. The corridor up there smelled a bit, fusty or something, couldnt quite place the smell. The TV didnt work at all, no terrestrial channels (or anything else). Tried to get something up on it but just got a black screen or a Menu to connect a chrome cast, that was it. Tried to have a shower Mon morning, but there was no hot water at all. None. Bed was quite thin and not amazingly comfy, but was acceptable, aircon seemed to have a mind of its own and turned itself off. We didnt park at the hotel, as we feared not getting a space as it said limited spaces - I did hear a women at reception saying to the reception that she couldnt get a space, so what could she do, so looks like we made the right call to park elsewhere rather than chance it. The coffee out of the coffe machine in reception was awful too.
