"The newly refurbished hotel has been done to very high quality. Our bedroom was lovely and spacious with sea views and an excellent shower room.
The staff and service were top quality and they couldn't do enough for us. And the restaurant meals were delicious and beautifully presented."
Tenby's town centre and train station are 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. Pastel-coloured Georgian buildings, mixed with its Medieval history, make for a picturesque setting.
Imperial Hotel Tenby is a Grade II-listed property built within the town's ancient stone fortifications.
The hotel recently underwent a multi-million-pound refurbishment. The redesigned bedrooms are "serene and contemporary" (The Western Telegraph). The new brasserie and lounge, Essence, overlooks the beach.
Tenby South Beach is on the hotel's doorstep. The 2-mile stretch of golden sand is ideal for long walks and fewer crowds compared to the neighbouring North Beach.
Explore the Welsh countryside on a vintage train. Gwili Steam Railway is a 40-minute drive away in Carmarthen.

The whole experience was positive, the staff welcome was great, the room overlooking the beach was fab and the bed very comfy. Dinner and breakfast was good. Perhaps the only negative was the lack of parking but there are official car parks within a 5 min walk. A lovely couple if says we'll be back, thanks to Martin

Staff very helpful suite/deluxe sea views cannot be made into a twin bedded room.
Large room and en-suite.
Noisy in breakfast with ongoing building work.
Not enough comfy sofa/chairs to sit throughout the day, in reception to read a book or newspaper.
Great location if you don’t have a car.
Other Comments
Very dirty bathroom fan,
Can’t have independent light on in the en-suite.
One sash window wouldn’t close completely, so was quite draughty room.
Need a set of drawers in the room to put away non hanging items.
Need comfy sofa a to be able to sit downstairs, by the bar.
Front doors left wide open makes the bar or restaurant cold.
Windows in the dining room are old and draughty.

The only down side is no parking. You can park outside for enough time to unload/load your luggage but the have to find a car park. We arrived during a busy time of the day and it took a number of circuits of Tenby to find a space but later had to move it for a 24 hour slot. Recommend arrive late afternoon/evening as parking will be easier to find.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Staff were very good, location was good. Nice sea view room. Little tired around the edges - worn, scruffy sun deck tiles, cable coverings missing. Breakfasts were good but the one evening meal ( thick, stoggy risotto ) we had was very poor. also the brûlée we had had not set.
Other Comments
The sun deck would be much improved if the view spoiling railings were replaced with clear glass panels.

Lack of service in restaurant and bar. Lack of trained staff. waiting an hour for main course, 45 minutes for sweets, 30 minutes for drinks. Run out of Steaks, lobster No butter or marmalade at breakfast. Did not always get what was ordered. Given soup spoons to eat sweets with. Loud music all the time.

The best possible location, very comfy room, service was friendly but random. Our sea view room was over the drinks terrace so not quiet. I always think a hotel should know their clientele, but I don’t think they’d ever met before. Most of the guests were grey haired couples but the music when dining was very loud and more Ministry of Sound than Radio 2. Great for ageing couples who like to rave……
Food was ok.

I really liked the decor of the hotel and no expense had been spared on this and appliances. Although I wouldn’t stay there again this is because I generally don’t go back to pkacrs

We were very impressed with the refurbishments. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Having WiFi access was very useful. Lovely comfortable bed and efficient shower however the shower screen was a bit too short making it impossible not to get water on the floor. Excellent toiletries.

High quality room with a beautiful view of the sea. Nice terrace, again with fabulous views. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good choice and quality of food in the evenings, although the music was a little loud. Good selection at breakfast although the quality of the cooked breakfast could be improved. Dog friendly area. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return and recommend to others

Mostly good, was put next to a room which was used for storage so could hear the door closing all through night and day. Hotel was lovely and clean and facilities in room were excellent. Couldn't fully open curtains to appreciate the sea view as room was overlooked by hotel bar terrace which was a shame. All in all food was very good for the first day but they must've had a change in chef on the Tuesday as the breakfast was awful. Overall a decent experience but would definitely speak up and ask to change rooms next time. Lesson learned for me.

Beautiful room with spectacular sea view. Exceptionally clean. Extremely comfortable bed.
The atmosphere at the hotel is fairly informal, staff pleasant and on the whole helpful but not always professional.
Breakfast was excellent, generous portions and well presented although cooked breakfast items and quality of cooking differed on consecutive days.
We were disappointed with the Sunday Roast (as an evening meal) - although the portions were generous, everything was very overcooked -yorkshire pudding was rock hard- and broccoli was absent.
The Small Plates menu was disappointing and over priced. Other restaurant food was well presented and tasty but with missing elements.
Other Comments
The restaurant would benefit from more attention to detail. Music too loud and grates against the ambiance hotel seems to be aiming
for.
