£15 per day parking charge, having to walk outside in the rain to hotel next door for breakfast. Not possible to open a window in the bedroom, very stuffy. Television had no volume control, either very low volume or mute. Entrance to hotel from carpark not possible because the Call Button did not work so had to walk around the hotel to the front to get in. Reported to reception but nothing done about the TV or the car park entrance call button

The Ibis Styles Paignton is in a ideal position close to the sea and opposite the pier. It is within easy walking distance of the Vue cinema and the town and a shorrt wark to the lovley quiet harbour. We had a wonderful view of the sun comiing up in the morning from our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good but the layout took us a while to get used to.
Other Comments
The room was large and the facilities eg wardrobes, drawers, and an iron and ironing board, were good however the layout of the bathroom was annoying as there was nowhere to hang a towl near the shower and the hooks were located behind the bathroom door.
I was not impressed with the cleaning of our room. The edges for carpet were thick with dust and I found a 5 pence coin next to my bed when we arrived. The metal drain for the shower needed to be cleaned but was not done while we were there.

The room was clean and breakfast was good. There were even vegetarian sausages which I was pleased about. I'd say the staff were rushed off their feet so more staff should have been available to assist at breakfast and with guests checking out. But overall an enjoyable stay

Location superb, reception very good, breakfast good, bed very comfy, room spacious & very good view, temperature in the room was very cold due to air conditioning at 21 moved to max which was 23 but then went strait back to 21, went down to reception & they said they would get the service engineer to look at but know one came so very cold all night, so next day told reception again & they told us we cant operate from room as they have took control of control from them due to it being to hot when sun out, so asked them to put it up to 25 which they did , checked it in our room later & it went back down to 21 again, so went back down again to reception again & said don,t even touch the control as it will automatically go back down to 21 so room yet again cold all night finally asked them to set permanently at 25 & left control untouched, so there should be a sign on your door advising you of what to do if room to cold & all staff on reception should be aware of what you have put in place but really we can,t understand why its not just left in the hands of ourselves in the room as normal, also we had 4n / 5days at the hotel & the bed was never changed or made & the cleaning staff did not change towels or take rubbish away till after 4pm every day which took the edge off the stay.

The parking issue needs to be addressed immediately. Charging £15 per night is beyond the pale! That said we had a very nice stay at the ibis styles.
Yet another ibis stay when it was another PUB WITH NO BEER issue. Obviously a supply problem cos same thing happened at the IBIS Bournemouth. Not a good look in peak summer. Breakfast was adequate and lovely staff on duty both mornings. Room was as promised with a sea view plus carnival!!
An 8/10.

The Ibis Styles Paignton was a nice hotel, I love the sea view but unfortunately I didn't see the sea with another room. The staffs were nice and helpful.

I have booked two rooms through TravelZoo, both rooms with sea view and breakfast. But one room for two night and one room for one night due to availability of deal. I had a few phone calls and emails to both TravelZoo and Ibis Styles Paignton before the trip because confirmation of both rooms. They both promised everything has been arranged and done.
When I check in the hotel on 27/07/25, the reception only found one room for two nights and told me the other room was cancelled by TravelZoo? I didn't know who cancelled the booking, but I was frustrated and panicked because other family members may not get the room.
The hotel was full and fortunately after 15mins, the reception found me a room but without sea view which I expected for the deal. I was lucky at that time but also disappointed with the communication between TravelZoo and Ibis Styles Paignton, because it was my birthday on 28/07 and I want to celebrate with my family with both sea view rooms.

Breakfast was a shambles, staff had allegedly reported sick so nothing prepped, items not replenished, coffee station shut, etc.
Breakfast selection was poor only scrambled eggs available.
Room got cleaned once during 5 night stay, although cleaner did attempt to come in a second time…at 6p.m. When we were getting ready for the evening.
Wi-Fi continually dropped out. TV in room kept going off, staff said idle with wires at back usual works…great health and safety???
Tried ringing reception from room, got no answer so went downstairs and found FOUR staff standing at reception chatting!!!
Bar run out of 2of the 3 draught lagers.
One staff member wouldn’t serve an ice cream saying he didn’t like to as it had been in freezer? Just think he couldn’t be bothered as partner went up 20 mins later and another staff member served it no issues.

We didn’t get our sea view room we booked because the air conditioning had gone wrong. Very disappointed as that’s what I booked! The air conditioning was very noisy & sounded like a lift all night, so didn’t sleep well at all. The Breakfast wasn’t anything like the picture on their website. At check in they insisted I had paid but I hadn't due to numerous attempts to speak to someone, as apparently at booking my card details didn't work, so after many unanswered,, stressful calls/emails they said pay on arrival. Our room was unusable, the air-conditioning wasn't working and as we had panoramic windows it was unbearable. I had no choice but to take a cold shower at 11.30pm. First thing next morning it was even too hot to use the bathroom, so I went to reception to explain. I was told other rooms also had same problem and once maintenence man started work (9am) they would look at it. We were told at 10am that it would not be fixed. I explained the room was simply unbearable but reception simply said sorry, nothing could be done. We went out onto sun terrace (which was much cooler than our room) and I just didn't know what to do. I wanted to wash, get dressed properly etc. I felt quite upset and again went to reception, as surely a simple "sorry" was not an acceptable response under these circumstances. I went to reception once again to ask if an alternative room could be located to wash and get ready. I was very disappointed that they didn't offer this straight away. An alternative was provided, it was a much less superior room without views. The breakfast was nice but staff could be improved, a man behind bar near entrance to dining room greeted each person who came into breakfast saying "good morning, are you still breathing"? - very odd and it did become a bit of a nuisance, we felt sorry for the guy carrying a small oxygen tank. There was no signage, no milk or teaspoons where teamaking facility was, had to walk to cereal section at far end for milk. The juice was hidden around a corner out of sight. Everyone was asking where things were, very odd set up. The hotel itself was really lovely and a great location, just staff training could be improved, especially breakfast staff. I wish name badges were worn. Such a shame our room was unusable.

On arrival into bedroom it was void of any information for guests. Unable to operate TV with no instructions. The same for the heating as room was cold we increased it via room switch but only cold air came out again no instructions. Told by reception any problems someone in reception would help, unfortunately the hotel was very understaffed and quite a few people had problems so rarely anyone on reception
Hotel was cold, had to ask a number of time for bedroom to be heated, as it is overridden in reception. The reception and bar area were also cold. Told the restaurant wasn't available only for coach tours and breakfast. Guest put croissant in toaster which caught fire she was told she could not do this, again I couldn't understand why there wasn't a simple sign to this effect by the toaster. At breakfast food very slow in being replaced, 2 mornings in a row no bread in basket, again I think either to staffing & maybe no routine. In the bathroom they showers soakaway didn't work not sloped enough had to wade through puddles to get to the door bathmats just got soaked. Great difficulty with bathroom sink unable to wash face without banging it as tap in middle of small sink.
Other Comments
A tourist information board in reception with leaflets and information would be an asset. As would the foregoing details about TV and heating, as would a telephone in bedroom. As long as you increase staff numbers dramatically so there is somewhere to answer it.

I don't know if all rooms are the same but they certainly need to sort out the shower drainage system in the room we had...a lot of the water runs straight over the drainage trough & onto the bathroom floor.. Initial problems with checking in due to the housekeeping team not supplying reception with the list of available rooms by 3pm when check-in was due to commence. The receptionist had to go and chase them up. We were unhappy at the £15 per night parking charge which we were unaware of. The bedroom faced the seafront and again was clean and modern. The English breakfast was not very nice, sausages were hard (overcooked) only scrambled egg on offer that tasted like powdered egg.
