It was only a 30 minute drive for us. The Hotel is lovely, very clean and comfortable and all the Staff were fantastic and could not do enough to help and make us feel very welcome. The Savvy Fox is absolutely fantastic , bright, welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. The choice of food is brilliant and the food was absolutely gorgeous. The seating area is large with some parts shaded.
First Class, terrific value for money a big fat 10 out of 10

Although we were happy with the room, the breakfast wasn't the most pleasant experience. My breakfast was cold and my husband's English breakfast was overcooked, black mushrooms and inedible bacon.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Food in the restaurant was excellent, as were the breakfasts.
We particularly enjoyed the music played in the restaurant at breakfast time!
Our room had been refurbished and was very nice. The only negative was that the walls must have been quite thin as you could hear noises from other rooms.
The hotel provides an excellent base for site seeing round the area and we enjoyed our stay.

If your room is on the ground floor it sounds like a herd of elephants in the rooms above

The setting of the hotel was lovely and would be ideal for functions. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Other Comments
The room, on the ground floor, was very noisy because there was no soundproofing between the ceiling and the 1st floor. The person in the room above us got up at about 6.15 am and didn't stay still for well over an hour. Our room was not particularly clean as there were, what looked like, chewing gum stains all over the carpet, there was a lot of mould on the bath and dust under the washbasin. The toilet roll holder was so badly positioned that my partner had to remember to take what was needed before sitting down! Our room looked out over the bins. I gather the room will be refurbished soon so, it should improve. On the plus side, the biscuits in the room were delicious!

Room wasn't quite right. The bath /shower was difficult to access water due to small space and fixed screen. There was left over glass in the drawers, only 1 bed side cabinet. The kettle was a travel size and difficult to refill.
The pub side was good with good quality food but the room just lacked the finish.
