Plenty of parking, on arrival we were told our card had been declined but in the 5 months since booking neither travelzoo or the hotel had contacted us!!! The junior suite we had was large and clean except for the bathroom which has small patches of black mold but we were not overlooked but the lighting was very muted and the room in general needs some TLC. The public rooms have had updates and look very nice. Evening meal in the restaurant was very good and they are very accommodating for coeliacs. The staff in general are all very friendly, we had Poppy as our server and she was lovely.

It was OK for the money. Pool was cold, which is quite common according to the locals. The steam room and jacuzzi are good. Changing rooms are in need of a refurbishment. Staff are friendly but went missing during dinner and we left after waiting 25mins for plates to be cleared. Food is OK but not worth what is charged. We had a signature burger and superfood salad. Drinks are average price. Wine is ridiculously expensive. Room is good and spacious and relaxing with all you would expect. TV is terrible. So we paid £125 for a spa package and it was OK for that. It's never a 4 star hotel though

We had a wonderful stay for our 43 Anniversary - stayed mid week and wondered if it would be quiet but the energy was great in the bar and restaurant. Staff were very accommodating. Steve who attended to us when we arrived had quietly noted it was our anniversary and when we attended dinner in the evening there were petals and an Anniversary Balloon and complimentary puddings. Good last minute spa break away with dinner and breakfast included. Reception team very good. Large comfy rooms with dim light, could do with brighter light/mirror for doing makeup. Dinner was tasty with good service in restaurant, but very bright: not much atmosphere.
Breakfast was okay, but wasn’t as organised as self service and lack of tables & choice of bread. Need more staff perhaps.

On arrival the front desk were cheerful and welcoming. Booking in was speedy and efficient.
The room was supposed to be a contemporary suite. I’m not sure what that meant but there was a vacant cupboard where I think there was once a fridge or mini bar. There was neither. All the other extras like an ironing board and hair dryer were there. There was a pump action toilet soap and conditioner in the bathroom. No other finery lotions or creams.
The shower was good and there was a bath tub but not used.
We both used the pool and steam room which was free with towels for travelzoo customers which was nice.

The deal we booked stated a free drink on arrival. This wasn’t forthcoming until I asked for it with the evening meal. I was offered a pint of beer and my wife a small wine. When it arrived the lovely lady serving us apologised and said I was only allowed half a pint.
We had a £50 meal credit which we used and managed to spend another £23 which I assume was another couple of drinks we had.
The bar is pretty pricey but it didn’t spoil our stay. We were celebrating our 40 th wedding anniversary and fancied a night away.
The breakfast next day was hot and very tasty.
All in all, good value for the money.

Food was lovely. Travel zoo deal was excellent value. Downside was the pool had to be cleared at 6pm due to a fire alarm. The fire alarm then went off at 3.20am which disrupted our sleep as we had to dress and leave the room. We spoke to another guest who says this is a regular occurrence- so they must have a fault which has obviously not been fixed.

Room was tired but a few tweaks would have made a huge difference. Shower head support pole was broken and a light bulb was out. Hooks to hang coats in room and towels in bathroom were lacking.
Dinner was very good. Breakfast good. No labels on breakfast items eg type of yogurt, smoked/unsmoked bacon.

When we checked they had booked three rooms in our name and all with different rates. This was sorted out immediately and we had the refund before the end of our stay. We were given Room 85 which was a lovely clean spacious room but unfortunately it had a very strong drainy smell which hits you as you enter the room. We reported it reception and they said they will get an air freshener in there. We returned to the room after a few hours and the smell was strong as ever unfortunately the air freshener did nothing at all. The next day we went out exploring the surrounding areas told reception again about the smell and upon our return we could not access our room apparently they had checked us out. Even though the room had a very strong and unpleasant smell we did enjoy our stay and would definitely return but not in Room 85 please.

All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were hard working and efficient when serving and clearing the tables.
Our room was very good. Spacious, clean and comfortable with a decent bath and separate shower cubicle.
Although our package included the use of the spar, we were not provided with gowns in our room or at the spa which was a disappointment.
The restaurant environment was as advertised on the website, a warm and friendly atmosphere and a good place to relax. The breakfast was excellent. A big selection of hot and cold options. Although one evening meal was poor (chewy steak salad) the others dishes were very good. Slight problem with the bill, our £25 per person allowance on the first night was not applied correctly, but when pointed out, the staff did rectify it quickly.
The WiFi was poor and sometimes there was no signal in our room. I understand extra investment in routers for the rooms is imminent.
The swimming pool is a good size compared to many hotels and superb for walking lengths if you’re recovering from a knee operation.
Overall an enjoyable and relaxing couple of days. If prices and packages remain as they are at present, we will return for another break.
