We enjoyed our stay at Number Four at Stow. The location was convenient - very close to the town but not subject to the traffic delays that we experienced when going through Stow to visit other towns. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent, offering a mix of 'fine dining' and, for those who want pub food, dishes meals such as fish and chips. We'd be happy to go back.

Very warm welcome on arrival. Easy check-in, lovely spacious and clean room with tea/coffee facilities and bottled water plus a bottle of fizz! The bed was very comfortable, slept so well. Great value for a two night b&b stay. The choice of food at breakfast was very good with a good selection on the menu to choose from. Would definitely stay again.

As we have done before, we met some old friends at this lovely boutique hotel just outside Stow. The hotel is beautifully appointed, comfortable and welcoming with particularly friendly and helpful staff notably the charming Rachel who served us at breakfast.
The rooms, though a little on the small side, are really comfortable with some nice touches ( eg full size fridge with chilled bottles of still and sparkling water ). The restaurant has a really welcoming ambience and the food is good. There is virtually nothing to complain about save the minor point that the corkage charge is a bit steep at £20, so we didn't go down that route this time.

The hotel is located in the fork of 2 busy roads, so having with window open is not great. Let alone sleep with the window open, sadly. Fortunately they have installed air-conditioning.
The hotel is lovely, once you're inside. Rooms are tastefully decorated and it feels like the hotel is well taken care of.

Friendly and welcoming staff, plenty of parking with two electric vehicle chargers that were useful. Pleasant bar and lounge area and attached restaurant. Restaurant attached with a nice decor, not cheap but high quality meal and breakfast was cooked to order with gluten free bread available though there were some mistakes made (the wrong breakfast with black pudding served and could have been warmer) but only minor. Bedroom was nice with coffee machine and decent WiFi though pillows were a bit hard and quite warm at night unless you fiddle about with the AC or open a window and some unusual noises. 40min walk to Stow if you take the scenic route away from the main road via Maugersbury/MacMillan Way and last bus back was 8pm from Market Square (don’t trust Google maps bus stops on Sheep St as an earlier bus wouldn’t stop and taxis need to be booked in advance). Bourton-on-the-water is well worth a visit, short drive south down the A429. Overall a pleasant hotel with friendly staff and good location if you plan in advance

We had had lunch there before with a previous Travelzoo voucher.
Ideally positioned just a few minutes from Stow Town centre.
Room was good, bubbles on arrival. We chose to have dinner at the hotel so we didn't have to drive. The menu was limited but food was good.
Breakfast was very prescriptive....usually cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juice etc are set out as self-service but you had to ask for everything and it wasn't clear if it was continental or cooked breakfast or both included so we just had cooked and we weren't informed otherwise.
My comments would be that the place could be cosier.... Nice sofas, carpet and a fire would make the lounge area more inviting.
A breakfast buffet would be good and most places we stay usually offer a little something when you inform them its a special occasion but there was no acknowledgement here at all

Signage on the road opposite the Hotel would be helpful as in the dark is was extemely difficult to find the Hotel it shares a postcode with other properties nearby. A banner on a hedge where a U turn was necessary is a bit poor for visitors not from the area.

Number Four is very well located to explore the Cotswolds and has the advantage of its own large free car park. The staff were fun and very attentive and the standard of food in the restaurant was very good as was the breakfast. The standard bedrooms are quite small but well appointed and have a king size bed which was very comfortable. We'd definitely stay again.

As per the booking we had a bottle of Prosecco in our room with two glasses. However there was only one chair in the room. Also we were in a group of 6 adults.
We didn’t want to sit in our room drinking. So we planned to take the Prosecco into dinner with us. We were told there would be a corkage charge, which we later found out would have been £20.
This seems bizarre for a bottle of their wine. There should have been a note with the wine in the room to explain the rules.
It left an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Unfortunately the quality and quantity of the fine dining experience was very disappointing. This was really pub grub at twice the price you would normally pay. A quarter of a trout at £25 was totally unacceptable. Food on the plate should be 30% of the cost not 10%!

No harsh echoes as found in some modern restaurants. Comfortable lounge and well stocked Bar although my husband was disappointed with the selection of dry sherries!! Ease of access from car park. Fully working car charge point. Patio looked welcoming but was too cold and wet for us to enjoy! Room small clean with a great bed. I appreciated an opening window.
