Why We Love This Hotel
- The property is surrounded by 30 acres of private garden and woods. The ruins of the 13th-century Dolbadarn Castle lie within the grounds. The castle was built by Llywelyn the Great using local slate.
- Take in views of the lake when dining in the Padarn Restaurant. The lively Eryri Bar & Lounge serves pub favourites.
- Llanberis is a short stroll from the hotel. The trailhead of the circular walk around Lake Padarn is five minutes' drive away.
- The Anglesey National Landscape and Betws-y-Coed village are 30 minutes' drive away.
- Portmeirion is an Italian-style village that was the backdrop for the 1960s' cult classic series, The Prisoner. It is 50 minutes' drive from the hotel.

The hotel and staff were amazing. We ate every night in the hotel and the food was varied and tasted fantastic. it was also very reasonable, most mains were around £20. The drinks were also reasonably priced, as you would think as they had a captive market they could exploit this, but they did not.

i would thoroughly recommend this hotel, but i also need to add it was only booked initially due to the travelzoo offer. Please repeat as we would love to go again, but cannot afford the usual price. :)

The hotel was in the perfect location to explore Snowdonia.It hotel felt welcoming and friendly. The Snowdonian railway was situated very close to the hotel .

Lovely hotel. Everything was great.
I only ever eat a Continental breakfast and I was spoilt for choice. Porridge. Yoghurts croissants. Fresh fruit salad and great choice of hot/cold drinks too. We will definitely be back plus i want to treat my family too. The staff were so friendly and helpful a delight to talk to.
We ate in on our first night and the meal and red wine were both delicious !
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. You won’t be disappointed

The location is excellent, the staff were always happy and welcoming.
Other Comments
The cleanliness of the room wasn’t very good. Lots of dust on the skirting boards, curtain pole and the bathroom was disgusting!

We booked our stay through a Travelzoo deal to coincide with my birthday. The stay at Royal Victoria Hotel was thoroughly enjoyable, staff were friendly and we couldn’t fault our experience the whole time we were there. Definitely worth the money and in future will look to returning using TravelZoo deals should the Royal Victoria come up again.

Comfortable warm clean. Little choice of food in bar. Good wine.didnt find a lounge- they were taken up by coach groups or funeral parties each day we were there.
