Why We Love This Hotel

  • The property is in Skipton, a charming town near the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Dales are known for their attractive villages full of stone cottages and cosy pubs. They also have many walking routes through river valleys and over wild moorland.
  • The hotel's conservatory restaurant overlooks the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. You can watch narrowboats glide gently by while dining.
  • Facilities at the hotel include a gym, an indoor pool, and a whirlpool spa.
  • The 900-year-old Skipton Castle is five minutes' drive away in the centre of town. It's one of the best-preserved Medieval castles in England. The beautiful ruins of Bolton Abbey are 15 minutes' drive away.
  • Take a ride on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. You'll travel from Bolton Abbey train station through the stunning Yorkshire countryside. The station is a 15-minute drive away, a few minutes from the abbey ruins.
  • The Brontë Parsonage Museum is a 25-minute drive from the hotel in Haworth. The sisters lived there most of their lives while penning their famous literary works.

The bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious. The food was delicious when we eventually got it. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming.
Other Comments
The leisure centre had only one padlock for the lockers and only one towel available although there were 2 of us. We booked our evening meal for 7.30pm but it took 50 minutes for us to be brought our starter. The young ladies in the restaurant were very polite and friendly but the wait for food was too long. The drinks prices were extortionate, almost £8 for a pint and almost £4 for a tonic water. At breakfast some of the hot food had run out. People had to ask staff to refill these which meant the food already on their plates was going cold. We stayed here 2 years ago and we were disappointed this time.

This was our 2nd twixmas break. The hotel, rooms and Staff are lovely, the evening meals and speed of service in the restaurant and bar let it down a bit. We've been twice, so will try somewhere else next year.

Good except for traffic noise. We were at the front by a busy road. They need to deal with it

At 5.45 am our smoke alarm went off because someone had a shower elsewhere. The room could do with a few , or a large picture it was a bit bare. Food , very good
