The Ormond at Tetbury is a Grade II-listed former coaching inn that dates from the late 1600s
The hotel's cosy candlelit restaurant serves seasonal, locally sourced food. Rooms are individually decorated in a contemporary style, and some have traditional oak-beamed ceilings and 4-poster beds
The property is in the centre of the Gloucestershire village of Tetbury — a "perfect, fudge-coloured town" (The Guardian) that makes a great base from which to explore the rolling hills and postcard-perfect villages of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
You can browse in the town's antique stores and vintage boutiques, or explore the surrounding area. Within two miles of the hotel, you'll find Chavenage House, an Elizabethan manor that was a filming location for the BBC's "Poldark", and the Prince of Wales's Highgrove Estate, where you can take a tour of the gardens
The Victorian-era Westonbirt Arboretum is a great location for a nature-filled walk (pre-booking is essential). The arboretum is 10 minutes' drive from the hotel
Further afield, Castle Combe (a filming location for 1967's "Doctor Dolittle" and 2010's "War Horse") and the Georgian city of Bath can be reached by car in 30 minutes or less

I had checked certain things on their website prior to booking this hotel, however on arrival when I questioned items I was advised website had not been updated since pre Covid so was 26 months out of date. Would not have booked had I known I advance. The exterior of the hotel was very shabby and down market in appearance and the food was OK but not great.

A lovely hotel in the heart of Tetbury lovely garden room. Staff friendly but there could be an improvement in service as it was slow.
We asked for a bottle of champagne to be in our room on arrival but this didn’t happen however they added the champagne to our bill !
Tea & coffee making facilities in the room could be much better - a cafetière with fresh coffee would be nice. At breakfast in the menu it said fresh fruit salad but there was none on either morning & when I asked about this the lady said There is no fruit salad but went & got a bowl of apples & oranges, when the yoghurt & fruit coulis ran out it took staff half an hour to notice & replenish.
On our first night - dinner was very good, I ordered ice cream for dessert but had to wait 40 minutes for it - when I asked why it was taking so long I was told that everyone had to have their mains before anyone could have dessert ! They said they were short staffed. Overall a pleasant stay but nothing that made it special or outstanding.

Customer service needs improving - a supervisor in the restaurant may improve service.

Had a lovely stay, staff very helpful and attentive, we upgraded to a larger bedroom which was located on ground floor near the beer garden, lovely room with large shower but only enough space in wardrobe for a nights clothes! Also needs a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, has a small table but it’s next to toilet flush zone. It was quiet in April but I think in summer it may be noisier in the evenings.
We dined in the evening and enjoyed the food very much.Breakfast was good apart from lack of prepared fruit
I makes it down one star on location as the village although it has some nice shops, was small and we visited Cirencester the next day which was a bustling town with many more restaurants, cafes, shops etc,
