We enjoyed every moment we spent there."
Princess Mary's family lived in Goldsborough Hall in the 1920s. It was also occupied by Oliver Cromwell's army during the English Civil War.
The interiors are like "something out of a novel" (The Daily Telegraph). Rooms are richly decorated, and there's an oak staircase, carved fireplaces, and stained-glass windows.
The Dining Room has three AA Rosettes for culinary excellence. "Excellent", "highlight of our stay", and "well worth it" is how some Travelzoo members have described their dining experience.
The stately home is surrounded by award-winning gardens. They include a woodland walk, a glasshouse and kitchen garden, and the historic Lime Tree Walk.

Arrived when bridal Fair was in full swing. No food being served for lunch but it didn’t dampen our stay. Was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Received a call prior to our stay confirming everything and given directions.
Greeted by friendly staff on arrival and taken to our rooms. We were two couples.
The hotell was decorated for Christmas and it was gorgeous. The room had everything we wanted and was nice and warm. A handwritten note greeted us also in the room.
We opted for the taster menu. Every course was explained to us in details when it was served. The attention to details were superb and the combination of flavours excellent.
The courses are small compared to a normal 3 course meal. But we were very happy with everything.
Would not hesitate to go back.

Goldsborough Hall cannot be faulted in any area. A stay there is a glorious experience, from arrival to leaving. Rooms are luxurious, the public areas spacious and comfortable. And the food is sublime. We are regular visitors and with every visit, it just gets better. I don't know how they do it!

We’ve rarely felt as cosseted as we did during our stay at Goldsborough Hall. It’s a gorgeous stately home that doesn’t feel formal or stuffy. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite, and served food with style. Our room was wonderful - huge with a very comfortable bed. We appreciated the fresh cookies and Prosecco chilling for our arrival. The food was superb, beautifully presented, delicious and exceeded our expectations. We loved it and would go back.

From start to finish the service was excellent. The meal was very well presented with nice twists and we definitely weren't given a cheap taster menu as sometimes with deals. The deal was very good value for money and I would definitely go back again full price!

A grand old Hall and beautifully decorated.
Evening set meal was certainly an experience.
Staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful.
A lovely setting in a tranquil village. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Good wi-fi and great bathroom. Walking around the grounds was good, even in February.

The place is a good balance between modern comforts whilst retaining a country house feel, especially as it's also a family home. Hats off to their work in saving it from dereliction.
