Itinerary
Begin with two nights at Hotel Plaza Venice, which is in Mestre on mainland Venice. This 4-star hotel is across the road from Venice Mestre train station. You can reach Venice island within 10 minutes by train. 

Continue by train to Desenzano del Garda—this resort town is on the southern shores of Lake Garda. Stay at Hotel Piroscafo for three nights. Relax and admire views from the hotel's terrace. You'll be a few minutes' walk from the lake, and five minutes' walk from the nearest beach.

The final stop will be in Milan, where you'll stay at Eco Hotel Milano. The hotel is five minutes' walk from the Affori Centro Metro station. It's 20–30 minutes by Metro to the city's top sights, including the cathedral, Sforzesco Castle, and the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology. 

While in Milan, you'll take a trip on the Bernina Red Train. This iconic train travels into the Swiss Alps along one of Europe's most breathtaking railway lines. Take a tour of St Moritz, a glamorous Swiss resort high in the Alps, then travel back to Milan.
