About the hotels
In Rome, stay at C-Hotels Club House, a 4-star property in the east of the city. It's less than 10 minutes' walk from the nearest Metro station, Cornelia. From here, it's a 15-minute journey into Rome's city centre.
This deal includes a hop-on, hop-off bus tour of Rome, so you can see the sights with ease. We recommend grabbing a coffee and relaxing in Piazza del Popolo for top-tier people watching.
Lanterne Magiche Ortigia is located on Isola di Ortiga, the most romantic corner of Syracuse. Standard Apartments are equipped with a small kitchenette with a coffee machine and a microwave. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Areas of Sicily were once part of Ancient Greece. Syracuse was the largest city of the empire. You'll be walking distance from many attractions, or you can rent bicycles for a fee. Marvel at the 5th-century BC amphitheatre and countless ruins. The park is a 10-minute taxi ride away.
About the Intercity Notte
Travel from Rome to Syracuse aboard the Intercity Notte sleeper train. You'll stay overnight in a Couchette Cabin, which sleeps up to four people. During the day the bunk-style beds are folded down into seats. When it's time to sleep, they convert into beds. You'll be provided with clean linen and bedding, plus bottled water and toiletries. There's a dining carriage, where you'll have breakfast the next morning.
This is the only route in Europe where the train is transported by ferry. The entire train will travel across the Strait of Messina by ferry, before continuing to Syracuse. Wake to stunning views the next morning.

Transfers & baggage
Transfers are not included. A bus runs from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport to a stop five minutes' walk from the Rome hotel. Fares cost 8€ (approximately £7) per person. A Metro journey from the nearest station to the hotel (Cornelia) to Roma Termini, from where the night train departs, costs 1.50€ (£2) per person. In Syracuse, the train station is a 10-minute bus journey from the hotel. Journeys cost 1.20€ (roughly £1) per person. You can take the train back to Catania Airport for your return flight—train fare costs 8.80€ (around £8) per person. Add checked baggage from £80 per bag, return.
