Hotel details
Set high above St Peter Port, La Fregate enjoys an enviable position overlooking the harbour and out towards the neighbouring islands of Herm and Sark. Described by The Daily Telegraph as a "stylish townhouse boutique hotel", it is perfectly placed on Guernsey's east coast, less than a 10-minute walk from St Julian's Pier.
The capital's attractions are right on the doorstep. Visit the Victorian Candie Gardens or Hauteville House, where Victor Hugo completed Les Misérables. Buses to explore the rest of the island depart from South Esplanade, just a short walk away.
Dine with panoramic picture views of the harbour and other Channel Islands beyond. Expect delicious local produce and freshly-caught seafood. In the winter, cosy up by the fire and watch the storms come in. Attend The Big Eat food festival in October, which celebrates the island's gourmet food scene. The Big Eat brings together restaurants, chefs, producers, and food businesses for a month of special menus and dining events.
