Hotel details
Verdala Wellness Hotel AX Privilege is a 5-star adults-only property that opened in September, 2025. The Daily Telegraph says it has "quickly become Malta's most raved-about hotel".
Perched on a hilltop in the centre of the island, it has mesmerising views across Rabat Valley. From the heated hillside infinity pool, you can see all the way to the sea. At night, the pool is illuminated so you can wind down under the stars.
The spa "deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Europe’s best," says The Daily Telegraph. The experience begins with a personalised 30-minute consultation. There's a sauna, hammam, hot bath, infra-red room, salt cave, state-of-the-art gym, and lounge, where rosemary tea is served by the fire. Treatments like massages and rituals cost extra.
The serene, honey-stone town of Rabat is around a 10-minute stroll from the hotel. It is a little under-the-radar, and packed with historic gems, including a Baroque church and Roman mosaics. Continue walking through the towering gates of Malta's perfectly-preserved former capital, Mdina. Nicknamed the Silent City, its squares, dungeons, and palazzos have featured in multiple fantasy films.
Club Members stay in Deluxe Rooms. These are slightly bigger than standard Comfort Rooms, and each has a terrace with panoramic valley views instead of city views.
