Hotel details
Hotel Procida Solcalante is on the western edge of the island. The hotel is so named for its excellent position—solcalante translates to setting sun. Admire stunning sunsets from the rooftop pool and garden, which overlooks Pozzo Vecchio beach.

Order aperitifs and snacks to the pool, or pick something from the wine menu. The hotel specialises in Campania wines (supplements apply). Dine al fresco on the panoramic terrace at the Acqua Pazza restaurant. This restaurant showcases Procidan cuisine with locally sourced seasonal produce.

There are just 12 rooms at the hotel. Each room is decorated with blue and yellow to represent the sun and the sea. Book treatments at the spa, which has a hydromassage bath and a Finnish sauna. Extra fees apply to enter the spa and for treatments.

About Procida
Procida is the smallest inhabited island in the Bay of Naples. House & Garden says it's "Italy's lesser-known island paradise". This sleepy haven was selected as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2022. It also featured in the 1999 film "The Talented Mr Ripley". You can walk from one side of the island to the other within 30 minutes. However, the roads can be steep. We recommend taking the bus or booking a taxi for longer journeys.

During your stay, you'll get to sample lingua di bue, a traditional Procidan dessert. It's made from lemon cream-filled puff pastry, and is flavoured with the island's lemons. Sample the pastry with a cappuccino on the hotel's terrace. Afterwards, you'll have a lemon-tasting experience. There will be limoncello, a lemon cocktail, and various Italian appetizers to try.

Procida's most famous sight is the Corricella Marina. This higgledy-piggledy harbour is bursting with colourful houses. You'll find many restaurants just steps from the water. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time if you'd like to dine here. The marina is 30 minutes' walk from the hotel, or under 10 minutes by taxi.

After a meal by the marina, take a 15-minute wander down to Chiaia beach. Even late spring and early autumn temperatures can reach up to 19°C. In the evening, visit Pozzo Vecchio beach to watch the sunset. The beach is 10 minutes' walk from the hotel.
