Hotel details
Hotel Akureyri is a boutique hotel in the centre of town, with a modern but playful design. One of the hotel's buildings was originally Iceland's first cinema. The restaurant, North, is dedicated to fresh ingredients and sustainability. Expect a traditional Icelandic breakfast each morning, with local flavours, creamy skyr, and strong coffee. After a day of exploring, cosy up in the hotel bar with happy hour from 4-8pm.
About Akureyri
Akureyri is often described as Iceland's second city. Despite its small size, it certainly packs a punch. Think hip cafes, a high quality dining scene, and trendy art galleries. Visit Akureyri Museum, or the imposing Akureyrarkirkja church. Or, stroll through the beautiful Lystigarðurinn, the most northerly botanical garden in the world. Its proximity to the Arctic Circle makes for a true wealth of interesting plant life.
