Hotel details
Fitzgerald Woodlands House is a 4-star property in Adare that started out as a small, family-run B&B over forty years ago. The hotel has since expanded, but is still run by the same family.
There's a traditional Irish bistro, which uses seasonal ingredients from their own organic garden and local suppliers. You can also have afternoon tea, or cosy up with a drink in the bar. If weather permits, you can grab a bite to eat or a coffee at The Treehouse, an outdoor dining venue.
Other facilities include a health and leisure club, which has an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room, a gym, and a Jacuzzi. There's a separate spa where you can book a range of treatments.
Superior Rooms are stylish and spacious, and come with a separate lounge area. Amenities include a TV, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. For a supplement, you can enjoy breakfast in bed.
About Adare
The village of Adare is in the scenic south west of Ireland, in County Limerick. It dates back to 1200 AD, and is widely regarded as one of Ireland's prettiest towns. The main street still has white-washed thatched cottages from the 1820s, now home to cafes and boutiques.
The 13th-century Desmond Castle is one of the main attractions, as well as the Holy Trinity Abbey Church. Adare Manor, with its championship golf course, is less than 10 minutes' drive away. It's also very well-placed for exploring some of Ireland's famous Wild Atlantic Way by car. The Ring of Kerry is about an hour's drive away, and Galway and The Cliffs of Moher are about an hour and a half.
