Hotel details
Lonely Planet calls Lake Como "the most spectacular" of the three major lakes in Italy. Hotel Lago di Como sits on a winding street leading to the Colico promenade.
The family-run hotel is just five minutes' walk from the lake, beach, and train station. Facilities include a restaurant, a courtyard garden, and free Wi-Fi. Daily breakfast and evening meals are included in the offer. Rooms come with air conditioning, a mini bar, and an LCD TV.
Hiking and cycling trails begin in Colico, and the village has cosy wine bars. Many restaurants feature live music, especially during summer. Exquisite historic villages like Varenna are around 30 minutes away by ferry. Bellagio—arguably the region's most beautiful town—is another 30 minutes by ferry from Varenna.
Other options
- Add extra nights from £49 per person, per night
- Add a Libera Circolazione boat ticket (round-trip from Varenna) from £19 per person
- Add a 2-night stay in Milan, with accommodation at the Hotel Raffaello and daily breakfast, from an extra £85 per person
Transfers & baggage
Transfers from the airport to the hotel aren't included—you'll need to book them separately, or make your own way on the train. The fastest way is to get the train to Milan Centrale, then switch for a train to Colico, which is right outside the hotel. Add checked baggage from £59 per bag, return.
