Hotel details
Hotel Monterrey Roses is a 4-star property perched on the coast of the Costa Brava. Enjoy the sea views and palm trees, and have direct access to a sandy beach. There's also an outdoor swimming pool. Cala Montjoi, one of the areas best-known coves, is close by. This is a great place for hiking in a coastal setting.
Daily breakfast and dinner are included, served buffet-style. Try Mediterranean and international cuisines. There are two bars onsite—one poolside and one by the ocean.
Rooms have a private balcony, air conditioning, and a television. Wi-Fi is free.
Excursion highlights
On day two, you'll enjoy your first excursion. Take a cruise along the coast to Cadaqués, a small fishing town. Many artists have drawn here and it is known as an art lover's paradise. The next day you'll take a boat ride along the Canal du Midi. France is around 30 miles from Roses, so you'll cross the border into Béziers. Pass pretty countryside and medieval bridges as you enjoy lunch onboard.
After a day at leisure, you'll take two excursions and explore historic Catalonia on day five. In the morning, take a guided tour of beautiful Besalú, a small medieval town with cobbled streets and an impressive, fortified bridge. After lunch, visit the lakeside town of Banyoles. You'll take a relaxing boat ride to admire the surrounding hills, then head to a vineyard in Roses for a wine tasting.
