Metropolitan Old Town Hotel is a convenient hotel in the centre of Prague's Medieval Old Town. The city's most famous town square, home to the Astronomical Clock, is around 10 minutes' walk away. The river is 10 minutes' walk in the other direction. There's a small port where you can book a cruise along the river. Continue walking and you'll stumble across Charles Bridge, which connects the Old Town to the New Town.
Autumn and winter are lovely times to visit Prague. In autumn, crowds start to thin and the tumbling rooftops are framed by red leaves. In winter, the spires are often dusted with snow, and treats like goulash and mulled wine are even tastier than normal.
