Itinerary
- Day one... fly into Cologne and board the ship.
- Day two... cruise the stunning Rhine Gorge en route to Rüdesheim. The city hosts one of Germany's most famous markets—a maze of alleys hung with twinkling lights. Specialities include wooden nutcrackers, music boxes, and coffee with Asbach brandy and whipped cream. Choose to tour Siegfried's Mechanical Music Cabinet or take a cable car up to the Niederwald Monument.
- Day three... continue cruising the Rhine Gorge on the way to Bonn, the birthplace of Beethoven. You'll take a guided tour of the city, and get plenty of time to explore the markets. It is a little quieter than the others, with plenty of mulled wine. Don't miss the giant Advent calendar outside the Old Town Hall.
- Day four... return to Cologne for a full day and night in port. You'll embark on a guided tour of the city to get your bearings. Then, hop between seven huge markets. The biggest and most iconic is the 160-stall affair outside the Gothic cathedral. There are several others, including a harbour market selling unique maritime gifts.
- Day five... leave the ship and fly home from Cologne.

You'll sail aboard MS Oscar Wilde, "an elegant vessel with a refined ambiance, targeting the British market" (Cruise Critic). It carries 169 passengers. You'll see the ship all decked out for Christmas. Expect glittering lights, pine trees, and plenty of glühwein and stollen. You'll enjoy a Christmas Gala Dinner, with a special seasonal menu. And there's often live music onboard, combining folk songs and Christmas classics.
