Itinerary

  • Day 1… fly to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, the second-largest city of the African continent. You'll meet with a representative in the arrivals hall, and a direct transfer will take you to your 5-star Hyatt hotel.
  • Day 2… meet with your expert Egyptologist guide and embark on a tour of The Pyramids of Giza, and The Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre. Take a lunch break at a local restaurant, before visiting a papyrus factory, and a gold and antiques workshop. Visit The Grand Egyptian Museum in the afternoon, when the crowds have thinned out.
  • Day 3… cross the Nile to visit the imposing Citadel of Salah el Din, a 12th-century fortification built against the Crusaders. Learn about Cairo's Coptic Christian past at the Church of St. George, the Hanging Church, and the Abu Serga Church, built upon a Roman fort in the 4th century. Admire early Islamic architecture at the Mosque of Amr Ibn Al-As, the first mosque built in Egypt and Africa.
  • Day 4… start your day with a tour through the vast collections of the National Museum of Ancient Egyptian Civilization. Wander the intoxicating maze of the Khan el-Khalili bazaar with your guide, where a coffee break at the  El-Fishawy Cafe is also included—it opened in 1797, and has been run by generations of the same family ever since. In the evening, embark on a dinner cruise, and be entertained by belly dancers and a folklore performance.
  • Day 5… enjoy breakfast, then check out from your hotel to be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
