The 5-star Anantara Kalutara Resort is on Sri Lanka's southwest coast. It's a 90-minute drive from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. The resort lies on a peninsula, where the Kalu Ganga River flows into the Indian Ocean. Soak up views across the tranquil lagoon and the ocean.
Breakfast is served in the Olu international restaurant. You can book tables for lunch and dinner for an extra fee. There are also Asian, Sri Lankan, and Italian restaurants. Order drinks at the sports bar or the pool bar. Room service and private dining are available at a supplement.
The spa is on a floating pavilion—there's an extra charge for treatments. Relax by the lagoon pool or the infinity pool, which is adults only. Workout in the gym, or abseil across the lagoon from the adventure tower (supplements apply). The hotel can arrange excursions, including fishing, river cruises, and visits to Buddhist sites. There are lots of activities available for a fee, such as golfing, biking, and cricket.
You'll stay in a Premier Garden View Room, which has a private balcony or terrace. Facilities include a Nespresso machine and a separate bath and rain shower.
