Itinerary

• Sigiriya... start the tour with an excursion to Sigiriya's ancient rock fortress. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers panoramic views from the summit. You'll also visit the Dambulla cave temple, adorned with painted murals and Buddha statues. Then, head to the beautiful village of Hiriwadunna. Sail across the river to a farmer's home, where you'll share a traditional meal.
• Kandy... en route here, you'll visit the Matale spice garden, home to Sri Lanka's famous cinnamon and stop for a traditional Sri Lankan lunch. In the evening, you'll be treated to a traditional show of centuries-old music and dance. The next day, you'll see the Temple of the Tooth. This sacred temple is said to hold a piece of the Buddha's tooth. Later, you'll visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, and the British Garrison Cemetery.
• Nuwara Eliya... ride a blue heritage train past tea plantations, picturesque villages, and rushing waterfalls. Once you've arrived, you are free to explore in the notably cooler climate. The next day, you'll get the chance to visit a working tea plantation.
• Beruwala... stop at the Devon and St Clair waterfalls, and a sea turtle conservation centre. Once in Beruwala, you'll have the rest of the trip to relax on golden beaches.

Maldives hotel details
Following your Sri Lanka tour, you'll fly to Malé. A speedboat will take you to the private island resort of OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi.  It is named by The Daily Telegraph as one of the best all-inclusive resorts in the Indian Ocean. Staff here are "delightful".

Sink into the 1,000 square-metre infinity pool, one of the largest in the archipelago. You can also relax in overwater hammocks. Spot rays, turtles, and reef sharks while snorkelling. Non-motorised watersports like paddleboarding, canoeing, and snorkelling are included. In the evenings, dine at the Element X buffet restaurant. Then, dance the night away at the x360 multi-level bar. All your meals and drinks are covered.

There's also a wine boutique, a colourful souvenir shop, and a patisserie. For an extra special experience, make a reservation at the Only BLU underwater restaurant. You'll be surrounded by colourful fish and sharks as you dine (additional charges apply). 

Ocean View Rooms are decorated in white and wooden tones and colourful finishings. Each room has a private balcony with sea views. Amenities include a king-size bed, a large flatscreen TV, a mini bar, a coffee machine, and air conditioning. Wi-Fi is free.
