Itinerary

• Days 1–2... begin in Kuala Lumpur with a 2-night stay at Ascott Star KLCC. The hotel is 10 minutes' walk from the famous Petronas Twin Towers. Head to the rooftop infinity pool for spectacular city views. 
• Day 3... fly to Borneo and check in to your hotel in Sandakan. You'll stay overnight at the Sabah Hotel. 
• Day 4... transfer to Sukau for three nights at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Nestled on the banks of the Kinabatangan River, this lodge is home to some of Borneo's best-loved wildlife. Take a trip to the Labuk Bay Proboscis Sanctuary—watch proboscis monkeys and silver leaf langurs during feeding time. 
• Day 5... take a morning river cruise to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake. Spot birds, monkeys, and monitor lizards.
• Day 6... begin the day with a second river cruise, this time along the Menanggul River. This is a prime wildlife spotting location, with orangutans, proboscis monkeys, Bornean pygmy elephants, and hornbills seen regularly. Take a trip to the Gomantong Caves at sunset to witness the exodus of millions of bats and raptors. 
• Days 7–9... travel by boat back to Sandakan, then fly to Kota Kinabalu. Arrive at the 5-star Shangri-La Rasa Ria. The resort is on a long white-sand beach backed by rainforest, and is surrounded by a nature reserve home to deer, monkeys, flying foxes, and slow lorises, plus lots of flora and fauna native to Sabah.
