Spend three nights at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection. King Charles III (then Prince of Wales) and David Beckham have both stayed in recent years. Facilities include two outdoor pools, a plush spa, and a fitness centre. Daily breakfast is covered, along with a complimentary buffet dinner once per stay. Enjoy high tea in The Orchid Conservatory, or settle into a leather armchair in the elegant Cigar Room (chargeable).

Surrounded by historic colonial-era architecture at the edge of the Perdana Botanical Gardens, the hotel sits just over five minutes' walk from the impressive National Mosque and a short stroll from Chinatown. The Petronas Towers and Batu Caves are also easily reached by public transport or taxi.

Hop on a direct flight to the lush, green island of Borneo, and spend a week at the luxurious Shangri-La Rasa Ria. The hotel is set between a 2-mile sandy beach and a tropical rainforest reserve. You can join guided birdwatching, canopy walks, and night safaris there (fees apply).

The main lagoon-style pool features waterslides, while guests staying in the Ocean Wing have exclusive access to a second, quieter pool (upgrades available for a supplement). Relax at the serene spa, work out in the gym, play a game of tennis, or join a morning Tai Chi or Pilates class. Complimentary kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding are also included. For meals, enjoy alfresco dining at Coffee Terrace, the resort’s main restaurant—daily breakfast and dinner are both part of your holiday.
