Itinerary highlights
Spend three nights in Tokyo at The b Ginza, located in Tokyo’s upscale shopping district. It’s a 25-minute subway journey from the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Tower. You can reach the photogenic Shibuya crossing within 30 minutes on the subway.
Join a full-day tour of Mount Fuji, Japan's tallest mountain. Visit Mount Fuji's 5th Station, which is located halfway up the mountain and offers panoramic views across the Fuji Five Lakes. You'll also take a cruise on Lake Ashi and ride the Hakone Ropeway. This aerial cable car travels over a volcanic valley.
Board your first bullet train to reach Kyoto. Spend the next three nights at Rihga Royal Hotel Kyoto. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the To-ji Temple, Japan’s tallest wooden pagoda. Take a 10-minute taxi ride to Gion, famous for its geishas and traditional tea houses.
On day five, follow a guide through Kyoto's streets to Nijo Castle, once the home of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who united Japan after 250 years of war. Continue to the Golden Pavillion, a zen Buddhist temple, and the Kyoto Imperial Palace.
After a final bullet train journey, you'll arrive in Osaka for your 3-night stay at Ibis Osaka Umeda Hotel. It's a 10-minute walk from Osaka Station. You can reach the HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel and the Tsuyuno Shrine within 10 minutes on foot.
Spend a day uncovering Osaka's rich food culture with a guided street food tour. Wander through Kuromon Market and the lively Sennichimae area, known as Osaka's kitchen. Sample specialties including takoyaki (seasoned batter puffs filled with octopus and onions), okonomiyaki (a savoury pancake made of cabbage and seafood), and kushikatsu (panko-breaded deep-fried meat and vegetable skewers).
