Itinerary
- Kochi... wander along narrow streets during a sightseeing tour and admire spider-like Chinese fishing nets looming over the shorelines. You'll see Santa Cruz Basilica, the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, and Mattancherry Palace during the tour.
- Munnar... this is the largest tea-growing region in southern India. Call at a spice plantation, explore the Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, and take in panoramic views from the Kannan Devan Hills. See herds of wild elephants in Mattupetty, tour a tea museum, and enjoy a traditional Indian show combining theatre, dance, and martial arts.
- Thekkady... stay with a local family in a homestay. Spot wild tigers during a boat cruise in the Periyar Tiger Reserve. You'll also visit the Tribal Heritage Museum, and wander through the spice market at Kumily Village.
- Kuttikkanam... make a brief stop at this hill station, famous for its scenic hiking trails.
- Alleppey... spend two days aboard a traditional houseboat to discover the region's glistening backwaters. Locally called a kettuvallam and held together entirely by coconut ropes, these vessels give a real insight into Keralan life. Cruise past ancient temples, rustic buildings, paddy fields, and swaying coconut palms.
- Poovar... unwind at a quiet resort set in a riverside coconut grove—it's protected from the Arabian Sea by a golden sandbar. Hop aboard the boat shuttle service to the beach, or take a dip in the outdoor pool with lagoon views. Join a boat trip on Poovar's lake and relax with an Ayurvedic massage.
