Itinerary
First, spend three nights at a hotel in the city centre of Foz do Iguazu. This is the main base for visiting Iguazu Falls, one of the world's tallest waterfalls. There are hundreds of cascades, including the 80-metre-tall Devil's Throat.
Next, fly to Rio de Janeiro for three nights in the bohemian neighbourhood of Lapa. It is famous for its antique stores, live music clubs, and the samba jams held beneath the Roman-style Arcos da Lapa aqueduct.
Next, fly from Brazil to Peru for four nights in Cusco, the oldest continually-inhabited city in the Americas. It is a whirlwind of Spanish colonial plazas, ancient Incan temples, and, of course, llamas.
While you're in Cusco, you'll take a full-day trip to Machu Picchu, with a 90-minute ride on the 360° Train. This has huge domed windows so you'll feel totally immersed in the Andes. Head to the open-air observation car, cocktail in hand, as clouds part over Machu Picchu.
Finally, fly to Lima for two nights in Miraflores, the main tourist district in Peru's capital. It is right by the beach and packed with restaurants, perfect for celebrating your trip over ceviche and pisco sours.
Transfers & baggage
Flights are included between cities, but you’ll need to make your own way to the hotels. 20kg checked baggage is included.
