Itinerary
Your first night will be in Nairobi, at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. The hotel is close to the city centre, set within landscaped gardens. Amenities include a swimming pool and an onsite restaurant. The next morning, you'll head off to Lake Nakuru via a short, 45-minute internal flight (road transfers are usually between 4-5 hours). Stay in a luxury lodge that has spectacular views across the Great Rift Valley, and is within a National Park, ideal for game drives.
It's then onto the Masai Mara. Again, you'll take a short, 45-minute internal flight, to avoid lengthy road transfers. You'll have two nights here, with private game drives included. Look out for the Big Five: rhinos, lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalo. Your lodge has views over the open plains of the Mara, and a water hole right in front—a popular gathering spot for the local wildlife. After a day of exploring, head back to the lodge for sunset drinks and dinner under the stars.
Finish the trip with six nights on the paradise island of Zanzibar. You'll stay at an all-inclusive resort, so you won't have to lift a finger. Canary Hotel & Spa is just 100 metres from the beach, where you can go snorkelling or swimming with turtles. Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its unique coral-coloured buildings and labyrinthine alleys, is about an hour and a half away. There's also an outdoor swimming pool at the hotel if you want to just kick back with a book.
