Itinerary
Upon arrival, you'll be greeted and transported to your hotel in Beijing. You will visit Tiananmen Square, the site of several important events in Chinese history, then have an afternoon at leisure.
On day four, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Great Wall of China. This impressive fortification has also been designated one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The afternoon is at your leisure.
The next day, visit a traditional Chinese health centre where you'll learn about the ancient practices of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other wellness traditions. Then, transfer to Beijing Airport for your domestic flight to Shanghai***. Upon arrival, your tour representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Suzhou.
In Suzhou you will visit the UNESCO-listed Lingering Garden, one of China's four most famous classical gardens. Next, stop at a traditional silk spinning factory. In the afternoon, drive to the city of Hangzhou.
Hangzhou is considered one of the tea capitals of China. In the morning you will visit the Tea House at Meijiawu Tea Village, nestled in the picturesque hinterland of West Lake. Participate in a traditional tea ceremony then go on a scenic boat cruise on the UNESCO-listed West Lake. In the afternoon, drive to Shangai where you'll have free time to explore this bustling metropolis.
Begin your exploration of Shanghai at the legendary Bund, one of the most iconic waterfronts in the world. See the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Centre, and the Shanghai Tower. Visit the Shanghai History Museum, then the rest of the day is at your leisure.
Your final day is at your leisure to explore Shanghai's attractions at your own place. Fly home from Shanghai to the UK.
